What a fucking prick.

He's clearly gone out there to stem the tide with all the negativity surrounding the IPO.

Ruining his image ever so slowly.

Love it, he's just the woman of crooked American businessmen.

My rag mates all text me within minutes of the full time after QPR congratulating us. If your mates aren't cunts, then aren't cunts, red or blue.

The first call I got was from my mum saying how pleased she was for me. That said, I think I've bored her and the rest of the family into submission about our title win since then!

How very dare he! Bacon on Glazers and City

"They have always been as sensible as they can be in terms of financing the club," added Ferguson
"They have to invest in the team to maintain the value of their asset.
"I think there are a whole lot of factions at United that think they own the club. They will always be contentious about whoever owns the club, and that's the way it's always been.
"When the Glazers took over here there was dissatisfaction, so there have always been pockets of supporters who have their views. But I think the majority of real fans will look at it realistically and say it's not affecting the team. We've won four championships since they've been there and one European Cup."
The Scot also stood by the club's refusal to compete with the likes of Manchester City in the transfer market, believing that his policy of blooding young players is preferable.
Champions City have emerged as the dominant force in English football - thanks to backing from their wealthy Arabic owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
However, United's £20m bid for Arsenal's 28-year-old striker Robin van Persie may be a reversal of this policy.
"We can play 18-year-olds because it's part of our history," he added.
"No other clubs can do that. City won't do it. They definitely won't play any young players who have come up through their system."

We will see Mr Notinmylifetime.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

There seems to be more than a few utd fans over on redcafe that can actually see through the bullshit being spouted by Ferguson and they are genuinely worried about where they are headed. However, they just get shouted down by the rag hordes of happy clapping fuckwits who thing that utd's reign will last forever.

Why is that? I know you're not getting at me, but why would I watch a team play that I have no interest in, and actually dislike. For me it would be like eating food I found distasteful, drinking a brand of beer I can't stand (Holts) or watching tennis which renders me comatose.
You have no interest in our closest rivals? Really?

Their close rivals now, but for a very long time they were close only in geography.
In truth, for the longest time, watching Utd only reinforced just how poor we were, I was more interested in getting to 40 points, if I had any interest in other teams it was the likes of Stoke, Bolton, Blackburn, Everton, they were our rivals. Not too long ago we were like flotsam, it seemed we were not in control of our destiny, we were poor to middling and the performance of other poor to middling clubs effected our destiny big time.
Now we have our destiny on our hands, it's a point rammed home time and again by Mancini, he hated having to hope for a result at Sunderland, he knows the mark of true winners is to keep going, it was a point of praise he had for Utd early on in the season, but he changed his mind once he saw Utd sit on a three goal lead against us and then come to the Etihad for a draw.

When you forget to frame your successes and failures objectively and start to frame them relative to others you stop being a winner and become nothing more than the last man standing, that is the reason Utd threw away their eight point lead.

Over the last couple of weeks Ferguson has been bleating to anyone who will listen and on almost every occasion he either directly or indirectly refers to us, is that a sign of strength or weakness?

In the league points means prizes, so I keep an eye on the points tally of other teams if it threatens us, but how they got those points is immaterial to me, unless a study of their tactics helps us to beat them when we meet. Otherwise the only time I take notice of other teams is when they are on the field of play against City.

I don't advocate this in life, but in football I'm a great believer in "f**k em, and forget em".
Then you are missing out on lots of enjoyment when the likes of Blackburn do them at the swamp.

Well everyone's entitled to an opinion but I do find your reaction over the top but entirely consistent with someone in denial. "Forbidden fruit" is something you know instinctively to be wrong yet you're irresistably drawn to it.

Now I understand and share your desire to see the rags beaten but I ceratinly wouldn't watch their every game - that really would be a triumph of hope over experience. But do tell me:

did you watch every rags game when we were playing in different divisions to them?
do you watch their Carling Cup games, especially when they field a second team?
do you watch their CL group games?
will you watch their first game of next season?
do you know who that is against without looking it up?

If you answer yes to these questions do you ever ask yourself who you really support in your heart of hearts?
No when it different leagues and when it didn't matter as we were shit.

Yes I do watch the CL group games if we aren't playing, same as I watch Chelsea or Arsenals.

They are playing away at someone is all I know and yes I'll be watching hoping we get make a gap in the first game.

As for your continued insinuation about bring a closet rag, grow up you fucking child.

Had it not been for the personal abuse I might have thought a fan of football in general with an unusual dedication to his team that extends to watching their hated rivals almost as much as his own team. But no, you're in denial lashing out at me as you confront the uncomfortable truth.
No, I just have little time for bell ends. You're the one that started the name calling with "closet rags", luckily, every other person on here thinks you are talking out of your arse. So have a good afternoon.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

To be fair, Rasher Chops has a point. Until last season they'd won a major trophy in every season with a CL final thrown in. The problem is where and when does that tipping point take effect.

Many teams lay down and allow them to be trampled on knowing that either they are wasting their time or the manager will get it in the neck. Last season specifically, teams slowly began to change their outlook, especially once they realised that United had their quota of dubious decisions filled.

The Glazer's have been good for United on the field as they know this is the only way to keep the pennies rolling in. Where they've failed is to not sort the debt out as they'd previously envisaged and that may be where it all goes wrong.

I am in little doubt that Ferguson's support of the Glazers is as a result of extraneous factors being brought to bear in one form or another.

I know what you mean, but that only happened in Europe. Utd got one of their best every points tallies last season in the league so not too much changed there.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

There is a point where their offield activities overshadow the playing side. I reckon we have passed that point. This was a football club, it is now a franchise, a business,a money making machine something of value only to the Glazers in terms of dollars. Through ferguson's fault he has saddled the true rag fans with a bunch of parasites but cannot see that through his own arrogance. Long may it continue.
