Uneducated post incoming, but do we want the Glazers to go up the swanny and take the Rags with them? Would this not leave them open to a knockdown price takeover just covering money owed, rather than the Glazers current obscene valuation? After all there's little wrong with the core business correct? Just all the debt and interest payments?

A debt free rags playing Champions League will make money
What I/we want, is the Glazers still in charge doing jiggery pokery with the money trying to pay off interest and late payment penalties
The rags start to flounder, fall out of Champions league placings, then when the cupboard is absolutely bare, sell up for a £1b+ and whoever takes them over needs to invest another £500m in the squad just to get them back into contention for Champions league placing

FFP is about protecting owners who are risking capital they can't afford to lose no matter how badly they use it and penalising those using capital they can afford to lose, regardless of how well they use it.

PSG seem to believe FFP doesnt exist

Good on them , not one Club will be banned under FFP.

PSG are setting a benchmark that Platini will ignore and everyone else will follow.

And if PSG's owners put the cash in they fall foul of FFP. If they do it via a loan they repay then they could be alright.

What a preposterous arrangement.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

Simple answer is for ADUG to "loan" us £500m, with a repayment of £20m a year.

We meet FFP requirements, we can spend a shit load of dosh on the best players, and everyone's a winner!

Re: United thread 2012/13.

Sorry I'm not thinking straight. It's still all about income & expenditure regardless of how the money is put in.

What I should have said is that it will encourage owners to finance their purchase via debt rather than risk capital, which as we've seen at the rags, is not good.

Excactly..If PSG do it and its ok then everyone will do it..

Is FFPR really that easy to get round ??

The good sheikh seems pretty pally with those Barclays people..

Im sure a mutually beneficial loan deal could be run through pretty quick. :)

-- Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:38 pm --

Only if you cant afford to pay it back ..
