Just had a rag argue that Van Persie would be wise to join United because...

1. They are the team who play most similarly to Arsenal.

2. United will be more successful in the long run whilst city flop.

3. Their backroom staff are superior to ours and would easily keep him injury free.

Simply amazing!

Whats the stupidest things rags have ever said to you?

I say 'how long have you had season ticket'

Rag says 'Never'

I say 'OK understand as you live in Southampton can understand where do you normally sit when you watch them?'

Rag says 'I've never been to OT'

I say 'What!! Next thing you'll be telling me is you have NEVER even been to Manchester!'

Rag says 'yeah, so!?'

Rags - love em or hate em you still have to hate em. GHPMs the lot of them.

Re: Never fail to amaze

I think he'd be more suited to them, but that's because frankly we're better and I don't think he'd like to be a small fish in a big pond. Those reasons are just silly.

I still can't get my head around this one, please bear with me.

I was in the pub last week and conversation with the Landlord gets around to the final game and what the atmosphere was like in the pub (it was about 50% Blue 50% red apparently).

A non match going rag at the end of the bar overhearing our conversation pipes up with "most true United fans are happy that City won the league".

I told him to give his head a wobble and said that the rags in the away end at Sunderland didn't look best pleased and that he was saying that to try and soften the blow.

He answered by saying that the United fans at Sunderland were not true fans, they were just biased fanatics.

I downed my pint and went.

That just about sums up the mindset of any "fan" who never attends games, sits in the pub and listens to talksport for their argument points

Likewise. I don't particularly want him, especially if (and it's a big ''if'') Tevez decides to behave himself and tell that worm of an agent/advisor to fuck off. Would prefer Llorente or Cavani as an alternative purchase.

Re: Never fail to amaze

I was in Tesco last night wearing my light jacket with a City badge on itmand some numpty, whom I'd never seen before said, "You won't win it next year".

Guessing he was a rag, I asked, "So who's going to win it, Chelsea?"

"No," he replied, and turned slightly to show me the scum badge on his top.

The conversation developed until he came out with the classic, "Well, you didn't win it, United lost it".

"Well, you did throw away an eight-point lead in six - no four - matches, but in years to come, it won't say, '2011-12, Manchester United threw it away, it will say, '2011-12' Manchester City, CHAMPIONS".

He then had another go about scum losing it, so I just repeated what I'd just said.

It really is hurting them.

RVP will be 30 next year , has had 1 good season in 7 at Arselona , dont think hes had an injury free season yet, is overated imo , definate not worth the 25-30 mill wenger is holding out for , I really hope they do sign him not a great deal of resale value in 2 or 3 years ? maybe this is the value in the market fergie is talking about ?

I wonder if I'm alone in this, but being a City fan I'd rather chew my arm off than watch Utd, unless they are playing us, consequently I've no idea how they accumulated their points last season. Utd must be good because they got the same points as us, but how good, strengths and weaknesses I don't have a clue.

My point is, being City fans how often do we actually watch Utd play and how easy is it to see past our dislike of the club to objectively analyse them?

I saw Utd on the box three times last season, I'll leave it to you to guess who their opponents were.
I watch every game that doesn't clash with ours.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

RVP is a ****. The rags would be perfect for him.
