It doesn't work like that, for the money they have spent they got exactly what they should have expected - a title challenging team.

It's not like United's team came for free. We spent £70m on our current set of defenders, £20m on goalkeepers, £100m+ on midfielders and wingers and £70m on forwards (would be more close £100m had Berbatov stayed and we let him go for next to nothing).

We don't win them all 4-0. When you look at our possible best line-ups you have Evra and Vidic for £6m each bought six and a half years ago, Welbeck and Cleverley who are our products, the rest are all very expensive players - comparable to prices paid by City.
