Jamie Jackson seems a nice guy, but he appears to be part of United's PR team. His tweets and stories make him come across as a United version of what John Cross is to Arsenal, while City get minimal obligatory coverage from him.

This is another story that sounds straight from Ed Woodward's mouth to get hopes up. They seem to be going for very hard to attain players again like Fabregas last year, instead of doing what United used to do best, finding some of the next big things. I mean, Muller, Kroos AND Robben? Yes, I'm sure Bayern will be happy to hand them over...

That Robben, Müller and Hummels are his prime targets - I do not doubt that for anything I now about LvG.

Müller and Robben are van-Gaal-players. Van Gaal and van Bommel already lured Robben to Munich. And Müller is his discovery - and that in a fashion you probably never saw a young player get promoted into a top team... The guy he took from the reserves, gave him a starting guarantee in the no. 10 spot and with him there they nearly won the treble - Müller even could have made the 1:0 in the CL final and then Mourinho would have had to change his tactics.

Robben could be tempted two years ago - but not now. And Müller let's his future open even if the press is on him since weeks. He says he is confident, loves the club, has 3 years contract left - but he cannot give any guarantees even for the next season. He always said that he would like to stay at the club as long as possible and would even sign a life long contract if that means that he is good enough for the club during that time. He is not in for a parttime role. If Mandzukic leaves and his situation at Bayern stays the same he will not try to get out - if Mandzu stays and Pep goes tiki-taka on the transfer market he probably will as this will cut his possibilities in a way it is too much. And in that case they have to let him go. I guess, not making the guarantee is more a tactics towards Bayern as I think he really does not want to leave.

Kroos - I guess the moment van Gaal is announced at United his idea of leaving for them will die...

In this lists all of the usual muppets are in. I just do not believe that van Gaal is going for the usual muppets... Cavani or Reus - I do not believe. Hummels - maybe. He is a defender that can play the ball and van Gaal knows his father and agent.

Re: Rags - Record Profits ... How?

Someone explain to me after their worst season for a long, long time United post first quarter record profits?

When their DEBT is £351m (BBC) i don't see how they can call anything 'profit'

The £35m they will lose out on from CL failure is only part of the cost.

The overpayment for Fellaini in transfer fee and wages is £10m + at least, and Moyes pay off must be at least £5m. They will then have to pay off all his back room staff (I doubt huge money but I'd guess still in the millions).

Plus, the top players they need will now want to agree huge salaries to come, bearing in mind they are not even in the Europa league next year, and there's no guarantee of top 4 next year either.

Mark Ogden reackons £50m +, but it could be a lot more. And on top of that, they are going to need to spend very, very big to build a team capable of winning the league.

Brilliant :)

The full cost of David Moyes’s disastrous 11-month reign as Manchester United manager has been revealed to be a staggering £50.4 million in lost prize money and wages paid to the 51-year-old.

I opened the sports pages of the Irish Independent, whilst browsing I'm Tesco, this morning.
According to the headline on James Lawton's latest proclamation "Van Gaal is in the same mould as Sir Alex".

Seriously, somebody ought to have a quiet word in Lawton's ear if that headline accurately reflects the article. He needs telling that he's a year behind on the official message.

Fuck me. Are we gonna hear "cut from the same cloth" bollocks soon as well?

Van Gaal was also brought up in Govan.

Fixed, Goebbels will alter his birth cert and passport.

What facts/fiction did Lawton use to back up his argument that Ferguson and Van Gaal are near exactly the same?
