I opened the sports pages of the Irish Independent, whilst browsing I'm Tesco, this morning.
According to the headline on James Lawton's latest proclamation "Van Gaal is in the same mould as Sir Alex".

Seriously, somebody ought to have a quiet word in Lawton's ear if that headline accurately reflects the article. He needs telling that he's a year behind on the official message.

What facts/fiction did Lawton use to back up his argument that Ferguson and Van Gaal are near exactly the same?
If you count the space in between van and gaal they both have 8 characters in their surnames, Moyes, on the other hand only had 5 and was never likely to succeed.

Both are unintelligible and share the same brand of whisky ;-)

I'd like to see the B and C lists.

That is the B list.

the A list was Messi, Ronaldo, Kompany, Suarez and Yaya.

No - that was the A list. We talk about van Gaal not about another coach. Kroos and Shaw are B-list as they are United ideas LvG can live with. And a lot of the others are muppets that are in the English press since weeks and I do not think they are ideas of the tulip general.

The only ones of your A-list that could make LvGs A-list probably would be Kompany from all I know about him. He might be able to live with some of the others - but they would not be on his wish lists...

I know you will not like it - as it is United. But this man is a genius. He might fail because of his personality that might clash with some and it might heaten up - but even then he will have left something that will be a great base of the future.

Some bolloxology about them sharing the same single-mindedness and steely vision. I didn't read it; I just glanced at it and walked away chuckling.

Two traits that Moyes had too. Even to the point were it looked like his eyes were about to pop out.

You could say the same about the mad fella who coached us at under 11. Just like Ferguson he was, like a drink too.

How will Rooney, and his £300k a week, react if RVP is given the captaincy..
