United thread 2013/14 part 2.

"When RVP gets injured"....
"When the goals dry up"......
"the decline is beginning"......

Why don't we just concentrate on City. United are a fucking good side albeit with a shit defence and midfield-Can't be that shit can it,they won the frigging league last year.

RVP hasn't been injured for ages now so why do people keep saying it is going to happen. We win our games and we will be champions. I am looking fwd to see how they do next week against Chelsea but to say they are declining is really a little bit premature.

The fact that this is a United thread allows me to comment and post about them.(without feeling guilty)

The fact that this is a United thread allows*you to post and comment about them*.(the irony)

Whether you care to admit it or not, RVP is the difference. Without him in their side United wouldn't....(fill in as appropriate) I'm not making this up, honest. But 1 player can make all the difference. Examples being. Kompany missing for us last season, Suarez missing for Liverpool this season, Bale missing for Spurs now, etc. (Un)Fortunately United have a long history of such players. Best, Law, Charlton, Robson, keane, Cantona, Ronaldo, Rooney, and now RVP. For whatever reason United always seem find and buy those kind of players.

As for this perceived injury that hasn't happened yet. Yes, you're right. However, the PL is 9 months long, and at any point within that 9 months RVP could get injured, or his goals could dry up. And yes, the opposite is also true. (fingers crossed)

Let me put this on record. I've never stated United aren't a *good f***ing side*. They are a f***ing good side, unfortunately.(arrrgh!) However, People, City fans, and football fans in general are allowed to feel a little optimistic about United faltering this season. There are numerous reasons, but the biggest is Sir retiring. End of.

Like the majority I don't think United will go away. Unfortunately they will always cast a shadow over City and the other PL clubs. However, that shadows isn't as long as it used to be.

Thank you. :-)

Never said it wasn't did I?.When I said let's concentrate on City I meant that if city do the business then we will be champions. All I am saying is that people are seriously clutching at straws if they think united aren't gonna be there or there abouts believing that if RVP gets injured they won't have any adequate replacements.

I agree. We have been spouting the "when VP gets injured" bollocks for 12 months.

Also how many times can we say that they are average, yet still watch them win ?

Some people were even predicting they wouldn't finish in the top 4!

Top and bottom of it is that we will need to play a whole lot better this season to jump back above them.

Noses in front and teams will continue to fold against them, the people alluding to a 'missing ingredient' are those who don't disregard the monumental influence of baconface, lets see how they react from going behind or chasing a game-- they won 16 points from losing positions last year, if gollum can sustain that then so be it, personally I don't see it, you don't just replicate someone instantaneously, especially not the modern games greatest manager, united may have an 'ethos' but this ginger scrotum isn't the one to continue it!

I agree but last season if they hadn't completely eased off once the title was won, the could easily have got 95 points.

Bacon was clearly an influence but maybe 10 points worth.

They may not get 16 points from losing positions like last season but by the same token they ain't going to get none are they?

Some people have predicted 4th place or lower. That's a huge drop of points from last season.

My feeling is they will still get 80 plus and therefore we need to perform a whole lot better as I am sure we will do.

I still think it will take 87points plus to win it.

20yrs of winning titles and they aren't gonna just go away mate. Agree totally.
They keep coming up with the goods. It pains me to say it but if we aren't at the races this season we will struggle to get 2nd let alone the title.

Amazing.

You big up RVP and United, and then criticize posters and telll them to get behind City, yet in the same breath dismiss City's chances of finishing 2nd, nevermind winning the title.

Please.

The finishing was World Class, the general play was distinctly ordinary. In fact for parts of the game Swansea dominated possession.

Agree, and for periods Jonjo Shelvey was running rings round them!

Excuse me for feeling confident, but I'd hate to thnk what Silva, Navas, Jovetic, etc, could do to United's midfield.

I would feel better if the transfer window was closed, i have a bad feeling that they and chelsea will do something big

Who uses the term "Wally" ffs?!

What hilts knows about football could go on the back of a penny black, though I'm gonna go easy on him, the very fact he used the term suggests he's in his 50s and one should respect there elders!!! (:

I used wally as i am a nice guy and thought utter moron would be a tad harsh, i will take your 50 quid bet if you promise to stump up the 550 if you lose

i would think about it though i really can't lose and although you may be minted giving away 550 notes on a bit of bravado seems a little silly

something a wally would do

And the fish bites

No, moron will suffice, but interestingly the moron got the imbecile to bite- bet is down, and bookmarked, so who holds your stake, or do you want grace on your £50? You can't lose remember!
