I think this thread has run its course.
you're right, maybe we should move on to part 3, it'll be so much better
Doubt it, number three in a trilogy is nearly always poor.
unfortunately i can't see it stopping as only three

some fucker will do a George Lucas and bring out three feeble efforts and then sell their soul to Disney to continue with endless cartoon threads

What hilts knows about football could go on the back of a penny black, though I'm gonna go easy on him, the very fact he used the term suggests he's in his 50s and one should respect there elders!!! (:

I used wally as i am a nice guy and thought utter moron would be a tad harsh, i will take your 50 quid bet if you promise to stump up the 550 if you lose

i would think about it though i really can't lose and although you may be minted giving away 550 notes on a bit of bravado seems a little silly

something a wally would do

And the fish bites

No, moron will suffice, but interestingly the moron got the imbecile to bite- bet is down, and bookmarked, so who holds your stake, or do you want grace on your £50? You can't lose remember!

ha ha got me to bite at 10/1 okay well done, do we not wait till the end of the season and then either i happily give you 50 quid and then walk to william hill and get my money back or you give me 550 quid which will almost pay for my season ticket

if you prefer to put my 50 and your 550 on hold somewhere that is also fine, i am prepared to take you at your word though

Amazing.

You big up RVP and United, and then criticize posters and telll them to get behind City, yet in the same breath dismiss City's chances of finishing 2nd, nevermind winning the title.

Please.

Whos bigging anyone up..its my opinion or am i not allowed that now jrb.
So united wont be anywhere near will they??that's all I am saying..to write them off as many have is simply stupid.. City have to hit the ground running.

Of course you are. Of course they will. But in the same breath you state City will be lucky to finish 2nd. I find that strange.

Trying to be objective.

Moyes is no better than Pellegrini. I'll admit Moyes has experience of the PL and Pellegrini doesn't, but Pellegrini has experience of leagues in Chile, Argentina, Spain, and the CL. Not a bad CV.

United have RVP and a disgruntled Rooney. Perm the rest of their team/squad. Nothing to fear in all honesty.

City have Sergio, Dzeko, Negredo(27 goals last season), and Jovetic. Then the likes of Silva, Yaya, Fernandinho, Navas, Nasri, Milner, Kompany, Zab, Hart, etc.

In my opinion City have a better team and squad of players.

Without putting typed words into your mouth, you've already wrote off City's chances of winning the title even before the season has started.

And let's be fair, every team wants to hit the ground running. It doesn't only apply to City.

City should be favourites. We have the best squad in the league, we have the feel good factor back, we have a top drawer manager. There's nothing more baffling than the number of people who somehow think we're less likely to win the league this season than we did at the beginning of last season.

The rags are what they are. They have quality in the final third so any mistakes will be seized upon. They have a midfield which will get overrun often unless they sign some quality. They are weak in fullback positions. We gave them the league title last season because of our own behind the scenes strife and turmoil.

The thing that worries me about United is that the bastards still manage to win when they play utter shite. Yesterday Van Persies goals yesterday were both impressive and out of nothing , I worry he's just gonna keep dragging them out of holes.

+1.

It is only one game in but it seems to me Moyes has the easiest job in the world he doesn't need to manage this team the team carries on in the old way of doing things as per Baconface, they play shite yet win. Only if Moyes decides to change the way that team plays will the cracks appear but if he leaves alone then I have no doubt they will continue to pile on the points. Last year they only managed a draw there so they have already increased their points against the same opposition by 2. The big test will be CL and against the top six clubs. That team would be taken apart by any of Europes top clubs. IMO

Exactly!

Hence why we tried to sign him.

Not only to score those goals which won United the title, but to stop United from getting him and winning the title.

If,(and I know it's all history now,)RVP had signed for City, we would have walked the league and won the FA Cup last season. One player away from doing our 1st double.

In all honesty I would love to know why we really missed out on RVP. I appreciate what RVP said, but I don't think it was as cut and dry as that. We were in with a very good chance of signing him, but at some point along the way we fucked it up?

Oh well!

I watched United last night. They certainly didn't look like Fergie's United. Swansea dominated large parts of the game. United huffed and puffed, but didn't do much until the RVP goal. I appreciate it was a great finish, but the Swansea defending for that and the 2nd United goal was very poor.

As I've stated, Swansea didn't do much in United's final 3rd to hurt them. Plenty of passing in midfield and around the box, but nothing inside it. If and when United come up against the top 5(Us, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, and Liverpool) and get through those matches unscathed, then I'll give Moyes and United some credit. Until then they are no different to the other top 5 teams this season.
