Maybe I am missing something here.....

But why would Pogba return to them after leaving in the first place ?

Is he unsettled in Italy ? Missing the Manchester weather ? Or does he have a bird from Beswick that he needs to get back to ? Coz it can't be to play for the team that wouldn't play him 2 seasons ago and decided a retired scholes was a better option can it ???

Short term management from pishcan. he should have been blooding Pogba then and they would not be in the mess they are....but oh no he was more concerned with putting one over City with short term options such as RVP and scholes and Giggs than building a team/squad to be handed over to next manager.....

Not that them lot will ever see that....

Reap what you sow ....

Ps...these are 2 players we should be in for, but with our track record of signings from Serie A I would be inclined to stay clear and get from La Liga !

Id be absolutely amazed if anyone at a club like Juve was looking to move. I know their out of the CL, but they are flying in Serie A and should win that comfortably. Why would Juve sell as well, they are still in 3 competitions so why would they sell 2 top players.

Its just a follow on from the summer where United publicly chased players who they have no chance of signing. Davey may as well go to Madrid and watch Ronaldo and Bale. Its a pathetic attempt to appease their numpty fans who mostly lap it up, when we all know in reality they have no chance of signing those players.

So what if they finish 6th?
all this meedja conditioning and brainwashing leads us to sometimes over-estimate the rags, the reality is that both dippers and the spuds should comfortably finish ahead of them, they will be 7th.

Yep I agree......the only way they will qualify for Europe is by winning league cup.....

Massive game for them vs sunderland.

Then that final will take on very important meaning for them !! They will be up for that big time.

Is that rule not exclusive to the FA cup?

if you want to better yourself as a football and adapt at the rate the modern game is changing, you don't go to united. They are far too one dimensional and old fashioned to allow the 21st century footballer to flourish, hence why Kagawa and Zaha have struggled

lo betide anyone that beats them in this years CL. they will be investigated to death and will have anything from anywhere dug up to throw them out and reinstate the cash cow.

Aye, but I don't think Olympiakos will give a flying fuck.

I'm having a lucky tenner on the Greek side to get through. Probs get 3 or 4 to 1.

Daniel Finkelstein ran one of his statistical prediction programs when the last 16 draw was made. He reckoned we had a 39% chance of beating Barcelona but they only had a 38% chance of beating Olympiakos.

I was always told stats are boring.
Not true as it turns out :-D

There was a journalist on BT sport who said Utd should have been looking at Marcisimo or a CB from Cagliari as they would be continuing their summer plans of going for 'unrealistic transfer targets' if they were looking at Vidal or Pogba

He reckons Pogba wants to stay but PSG are interested in him and will go big in the summer. He didn't mention anything more about Vidal though

Utd and their fans are in dream world if they think any of the world's best players are going to sign now, they are 7th! With the WC coming up the best players can just hang-fire and pick their teams in the summer. Which won't be Utd in the summer either

Davide Astori would be the centre half. very solid defender, but I hope they sign him, don't think the premier league is for him, serious, serious lack of pace.

Certainly worth a punt at 4/1 if you can get it.

You've got to fancy them at home to get a result and are this rag side good enough to overturn a deficit, under pressure.

the way things have been going they're more likely to win at the swamp, better odds too..

But even if they finish 7th they could still get into the Europa League. If we manage to squeeze past West Ham and beat whomever in the final then 6th place will qualify.
If the FACup finalists are both top four finishers, then 7th is in, albeit playing a qualifier in Iceland in June!
I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that if we win in the final then as long as the team we play doesn't finish in a European spot (CL or Europa) then they get the Europa spot.

Only in the FA Cup final, the League Cup place goes straight into the league if the winner is already champions league qualified.

Oh, yeah. He said the FA Cup though, which confused me, but still regarding the FA Cup final, I'm sure both teams just have to finish in a European spot, rather than both in top four.
