Talksport transfer news bulletin just now - not a mention of even one player to the Rags - £200m !!!?? Bollox !!!
I think it's pretty clear it's bollocks! Tabloid nonsense.bluethrunthru said:Talksport transfer news bulletin just now - not a mention of even one player to the Rags - £200m !!!?? Bollox !!!
Our net spend over the past five years is just £2m more a season than Stoke City's and £3m more a season than Aston Villa's. Moyes is happy to work within these parameters, but one of Europe’s finest won’t be

Even accounting for the huge amount of cash that club generates and even discounting the repayments on their not inconsiderable debt, I would imagine the maximum they could spend each season is £90-£100 million net. However, the Glazers have never sanctioned anything like that kind of spending when Ferguson was manager so why anyone would think they'd give Moyes twice that is beyond me. Plus, as you say, surely those United fans that have slated City's spending would be dead against spending such vast sums of money. Wouldn't they????
Cannot see that happening tbh, as someone said earlier their net spend over the last 5 years is very similar to Stoke/Villa.

Before I answer this, as it's an interesting question: intend it why?cleavers said:I'm left wondering did Ferguson actually intend all this ?
If they miss out on CL its clear they are in trouble financially, it must be one of the worst years to miss out.
It would make sense to overpay fee's and wages this month to ensure they make 4th, but if they fail to attract players this month, and subsequently fail to finish 4th, their best players will want to leave in the summer, and further trouble will follow.
However you look at it, he's the one to blame for much of the mess, he took his eye off the bigger picture 2 years ago, and his recommendation of a corner shop manager has made matters worse, I wonder how long it will take the die hard rags to come to this conclusion ?
