Sobering thought lads and lasses. If we do win the League Cup, we could end up helping the vermin get into Europe. In sucha scenario, the Europa League spot does not go to the losing finalist, but to the highest placed side in the PL that hasn't qualified for Europe (6th place). And yes, I did hear what the Beeb just said about Sunderland qualifying for Europe. They're wrong.

All the Europa games would hurt them domestically, their season would start in July, and they'll have to cancel a preseason tour of the far East, depriving all those local, die hard YooKnighted supporters a chance to see their team in the flesh...

Just when you think things couldn't get any better.

It would be hilarious if this came to pass.

Much better for them to be in the Europa League than not, IMHO.

Think signing Mata will give them a boost, not a long term solution but like RVP with a point to prove it will give them momentum, will be a challenge in the league game but there's a reason a great coach like Mou doesn't want him which means there's weaknesses for Pelle to exploit.

But against cannon fodder he'll give them the top 4 boost imo.

Playing Sunday/Thursday/Sunday would be a nightmare for them in terms of the league.

Is he any better than Kagawa?

Wasn't Moyes' excuse for not buying one of their summer targets the fact that they have Kagawa?

And yet, gollum hardly plays him.

Exactly. The Europa league is a hindrance for any team wishing to make a realistic push for the title...let them have it couldn't care less.

Took him off tonight and it caused their collapse.

Still coonts for selling him to that shower - hope the little fookin tramp gets fooked first game

Why are they trying to buy success? I don't understand. This is not the rag way. Does all this borrowed money for a slow, non-tackling, non-tracking back dwarf really represent value in the market? In January? I don't understand.
