Nice Balti :-)

Seriously if they have got a £150M war chest like the papers are saying, I still don't think it's enough for them to challenge us, Chelsea or Arsenal.

It's enough though to blow Southampton and Newcastle out of the water and give the Mickey sides and Spurs a run for fourth spot.

“Manchester United are not only the biggest club in this country, they are the biggest club in the world,” Moyes said. “I don’t think any of the aura is fading whatsoever. I think some of the results have been not what you want, but I don’t think the aura is fading; in fact, I actually think the opposite.

“I don’t see an issue when it comes to signing players, not judging by my trips and the things I’m hearing. The amount of big players who want to join United is incredible. Maybe players want to go for the money to other clubs, but if you asked them where they really want to be, what club they’d really like to wear the badge of, they want to wear the badge of Manchester United. Players are not looking at the share price. What they’re looking at is the club, what it stands for in football terms.”

David Moyes has actually said this. He really, really has.

Mido, Mickey Quinn, Dean Windass....

It sounds like some faded Hollywood actress trying to convince themselves that their next, big role to relaunch their faltering career is just around the corner.

Her agent keeps telling her its just a matter of time, without actually delivering anything of substance.

Fair play to Moyes though. He managed to say all that without using the word "romance" once.

Or "Transition".

Makes me feel ashamed to have a degree in journalism

I take it that now PSG are no longer in the CL and their owners could do with a bob or two, they may as well sell their star striker to a foreign rival in the jandow..

January-window=jandow..

In which case he shouldn't have any problem persuading the likes of Rooney and van Pussy to stay, nor bringing in top names in this window or the next. I'm sure they'd all turn down better wages and CL football at City or Chelsea, just for the opportunity to play for the World's Biggest Club TM and the Chosen One TM.
Wouldn't be holding my breath if I supported that shower. Some of them still haven't quite figured out where all this is possibly going to end up though. Others seem to be gradually realising what may come to pass in the next few years, and they aren't liking it. Ask Liverpool how easy it is when you lose CL football. 'Istree means eff all these days to modern players, for better or worse.
