"Moyes, however, has time and money on his side. The signing of Juan Mata will just be the start. Later will come the exit of Wayne Rooney, possibly in exchange for Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale"

Patrick Barclay is so full of shit, I really dont know where to start...... Those two above will be going nowhere.

Breaking: United have made their move for Mata. Across BBC shortly...

Screw Jose and the Chavs, short termism at its worst, for a few million quid which will hardly make a difference to them, giving United the foundation to build their revival on a proven top clas sprem player who will lift the squad

Nah it makes sense for Chelsea if its big money. They don't want Mata and it funds a big striker purchase plus it boosts ManU for the title run in against us and Arsenal.

They won't be short of big money suitors for Mata if they were just patient, but then patience and Chelsea are seldom found in the same sentence, unless it's preceded by the words 'fuck all'.

Maybe but no one offering £40m or thereabouts. ManU are desperate for a boost and right now would sign Krusty the clown if they thought it would help. Chelsea are just taking advantage of the situation and moving on a squad player for silly money. Personally I think they would be dumb not to sell for £40m and do you think Jose cares about keeping ManU down? Jose would be confident in his ability to win the league against a Moyes led ManU if he sold half his bloody squad to them let alone a player he doesn't actually rate.

Besides if Roman gives him the boot he doesn't want that big a rebuild job when he gets the ManU gig...

At £35 million is Mata overpriced?

Just said on sky news 40 mill?

They bent over a little bit more then :-)
It goes to show what they need to spend on a per player basis to get their team up to scratch. I think they need at least another 3-4 players AS A MINIMUM, which is going to rush them £120 -£160m.

Fucking hell, if they spend £35 mill plus on Mata, it will make the Fellani deal look like a steal ... mark my words.

Barclay recently said Janusaz was the best uncapped player in premier league history.

I don't see why.

It's no more than Liverpool paid for Andy Carroll

But don't forget, United don't buy players for silly money, they bring them through their youth academy.

Not only that, their transfer money is self-generated and ethical. ;-)

what happened to the claims that united had budgeted 30m a year for signings? This will make it over £60 for the season, albeit on just 2 players when that money could have got them 2 or 3 more good players
