I think Sunderland will beat them and it will bring upon a famous turtle meltdown.

A Sunderland draw is very possible, beating them will make this hilarious. Comedy club.

How they're 4th in the table having played consistently badly throughout the whole season is beyond me. Every team gets a lucky win from time to time but United seem to have turned it into an art form. Not only that, they don't appear to have a discernible style of play whereas every other team in the top 7 does. Even the more rational United fans are scratching their heads in disbelief at how poor they're playing. Maybe the Tactical Turtle will get it right over time but if they don't get top 4 this season you'd have to say his position is under threat given the amount of money they spent in the summer.

I had to laugh at the thread on Rag Cafe about the games this weekend with United fans paying us backhanded compliments by saying "why can't we play football like City?". I don't think any of us could've envisaged it going so badly awry for them in such a short space of time but when you look back, the signs were clearly there that Baconface was papering over the cracks over the last few years of his reign. I doubt they'll disappear off our radar for too long but it's amusing watching all the same.

Yes, but when, (if) they come back they will never be the same. Their bubble burst and cannot ever be re-inflated. They will have lost so much ground and flakey, plastic, glory-hunting support, that they will not be the same 'force' that they used to be. That, in turn, will reduce their earning power and financial backing, which will further hinder their future success.

Any 'massive' investment will only be trying to play catch-up with Chelski, Le Arse, (if they spend,) and us. And we will be much further ahead.

Great innit?

Yes, I must admit that it is rather amusing. Caught a bit of their game against Swansea in Mary D's the other day and couldn't help thinking that van Persie looks totally shot, and that was before he picked up the injury. A glaring example of Baconface's short-sightedness that crept in towards the end of his time there.

I reckon Arsenal and Liverpool will finish ahead of them.

I don't care what anybody says, they're extremely lucky to be in top four given the way they've played.

Van Gaal has massively under-achieved given that they've got the most expensive squad in the league. He spent £150 million in the summer and how many more points have they got this season? 3 or 4?

£60 million for Di Maria? Ouch.

This only occurred to me this morning, but we're charging Season Card holders the same to watch Barcelona as the rags did for their to watch Cambridge.

How times have changed!

The attacking of shirts at Wembley, leading to my decision not to take my son down Wembley Way.

Does anyone know which hotel it was Cantona and his mates stopped at, courtesy of the Munich Survivors?

Re: Rags glorious history.

When Rooney put in his transfer request in October 2010 I had an interesting phone conversation with a very high-level contact within the game who was involved in that affair in a way I'm not going to go into. He gave me some interesting details about the negotiations and the contract and we both came to the same conclusion, which was that Baconface & Gill had set the whole thing up with Rooney & his agent in order to get their own way in increasing the salary base, against the wishes of the Glazers.

I agree. It's not only possible but likely that they will finish outside the top 4. Their last 12 games are very tough whereas Arsenal appear to have the easiest of all run ins.

I think the £150m spent in the summer was out of desperation and selling clubs knowing that ripped them off.

I mean £30m for Shaw and they let go Welbeck for £16m? Doesn't make sense to me. Di Maria for £60m?

I understand that Man U did most of that on the never never and have to fork out something like £100m in the next 12 months. When you consider they still have debt of some £350m, heaven knows what will happen when interest rates go up. I really think Man U are in bigger doo doo than even their most pessimistic fans can countenance.

You know its a funny thing. Man U fans used to boast that no player from City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc would get into their team. Well, I'd say now that no Utd player would get into City's side.......nor the manager come to that.

About time Man U fans get to experience what it's like to be a real fan. Having said that, as a Charlton Athletic fan, I'm probably a masochist. My days in the sun are a trip to Bournemouth, not Barbados which is how I'd explain the difference.
