They have banned I-pads and tablets to stop fans watching sky go while the game is on.

Absolutely ridiculous rule.

What about all the fans that travel 2-3 hours each way on the train to the matches? Most people use iPads to watch films, play games etc to make the journey more bearable. I certainly hope this stupid banning of iPads isn't going to catch on. I'm facing a round trip of 10 hours to Newcastle Sunday and I'll be taking both mine and my son's iPads to get us through the day. What am I going to do if I reach St James park and I'm refused entry bacause of my iPads? - Too expensive to leave anywhere.

The Daily Mail story says the ban is to stop videoing of the match. Video a match with an iPad? Who on earth would want to do that anyway? Too damn big for videoing, plus everyone has video capabilities on their phones. Are they going to ban phones as well?

What an absurd ruling.

Just seen that they have put a 20mE bid in for Marcos Rojo

Bang average

Wasn't impressed with him during World Cup, but haven't seen him apart from then.

Think the fella on twitter is called Jan Hogen who knows his stuff on Portugese football and wrote a decent piece about Mangala and Fernando

He said that Rojo's positioning isn't good enough for a left sided CB which is where he was playing for Sporting, he played LB for Argentina in the world cup and im with you I wasn't impressed with him at all

My guess is he will play LCB if they sign him given the fact they have spent £30m on Shaw

Ah right. Cheers. I'd forgotten about Shaw ;-)

Have they banned people taking in maps, compasses and English phrase-books? If so, the place could be empty for most games.
Are they still allowed to take in their song lists they printed so they can sing their nursery rhymes in order??

The entertainment value for that lot is going downhill fast. How the hell are the plastics supposed
to watch re-runs of City winning the league without their techies.

Erm, they did years ago.

you sure mate? i take drinks in for my lads every game, not been stopped yet

Yeah, they take the lid off if they see you walk in with it. I put it in my pocket and they don't see it. They also don't give you the lid if you buy it from city.
If you are further away from the away fans, they may not be arsed.

I have asked them to leave the top on my bottle of water at the kiosks near the away fans and they wouldn't have it,so just walked a couple of kiosks along and no problems...strange

yeh just read this. i think the recording bit is bullshit i just think they dont like people not to be watching the game and being away with the fairies. looks bad when fans are on bloody tablets. i'm with them on this.
mind you the list of banned items does go a little too far.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2722077/Manchester-United-BAN-supporters-bringing-Ipads-tablet-devices-Old-Trafford-ahead-new-season.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... eason.html</a>

Banning people from bringing in drinks, unless the top has been removed is fucking disgusting.
Another ploy to squeeze money from the deluded masses.

I hope City never stoops this low.
noticed flasks are on the list .feel free to call me tight but we take 3 flasks to each game no chance of me paying nearly £7 for are half time brews 19x£7 =£133 lads season ticket is £120 basically the flask gives us free footie for the season

that's why they are banned.

Great stuff from woodward about not having to win anything to still get huge sponsorship and shirt sales !
This is taking your fans for granted in the most cynical way imaginable. Presumably as the deals roll in and the ticket prices go up eddie's bonuses and salary reach another utd record level.
If I heard any of our board treat us like that , I would be furious - I think we all would!
The next logical step for that cess- pit of a club is to stop playing football altogether , concrete over the pitch and turn the whole thing into a giant supermarket to sell shirts and merchandise to gullible fools who will take any old shit from these "financial wizards"!
If you stop feeding your dog, mr Woodward , it will go somewhere else for food.

Are they ? I look like an extra from ghost busters with my back pack and 3 flasks going in .just got to figure away of warming my 4 pies from pound bakery up at half time maybe send the lad 30 mins before half time to hold them under the hand driers ?

Big question is, have the strengthened?

Let's forget all the propaganda and have a look at the facts:

Out
Moyes, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Giggs(as a player)

In
Van Gaal, Shaw and Herrera

And with more outs likely, and probably outnumbering the players coming in, they look short of players and there is a serous lack of quality players
