Noticed a lot of rags are taking the moral high ground with Suarez biting people.

The same Rags who defended Keane's premeditated attack on Alfie Haaland and Cantona kicking a fan.

Genuinely taking my blue tinted specs off, both those incidents were far, far worse than what Suarez did.

Keane's was the next worst, by dint of the fact that he intended to cause lasting harm to Haarland and because it was an act of retribution and most probably had been subject to a significant degree of planning. He also indulged in gratuitous degradation of his victim after he committed the offence.

Suarez's is the least serious, notwithstanding his previous. No serious harm was intended or inflicted upon the victim imo. There is no suggestion of pre-planning seeming, as it did, to be very much acted upon an impulse.

One unifying factor is the lack of remorse of any of the three protagonists. Keane, however, accentuated this by openly boasting about the offence and his intention behind it, which is a further aggravating feature, creating more daylight between him and Suarez.

To suggest that three separate assaults, with three entirely different sets of facts, cannot be distinguished from each other is more than a little simplistic - and most certainly wrong.

I can't see why it's 'worse' to attack a member of the crowd rather than a player. We're all human beings. The Suarez and Keane incidents were also done in full view of children. None of the incidents involved a 'weapon', they all involved use of body parts to commit the offence. You also have no idea whether Cantona 'intended more harm' than either Keane or Suarez.

Surely planning to cause 'lasting harm' would be a worse offence than not?. Also wasn't Cantona's an 'act of retribution' against a fan who had been giving him verbals?

That indeed increases Keane's cuntishness. However, we have no idea whether Suarez has boasted about his incident behind close doors, so it's impossible to draw parallels.

I'm not saying they might not be 'different', but at the end of the day all 3 are assaults. That'd be like arguing which rape (for example) was worse.
