I'm not ITK or an expert on the subject, but does anyone doubt that we have tiered earning and renegotiation clauses in our sponsorship agreements dependent on on field success ? And with United establishing this type of income is justifiable for a club that has NO European exposure for the next 12 months, WHEN City get to the negotiation table it'll be game on !

NOT WORRIED IN THE LEAST.

yes but they have 700 millions fans - that's just under a pound each

Put it this way.

Adidas will have to sell 1 million shirts just to get to £45mill each season.

That still leaves another £30mill worth of merchandise to shift before Adidas make any money.

Yet Nike walked away, as they didn't see any value in that kind of deal.

Interesting when you spell it out like that. What gets me is why did Adidas stump up £75mil when Nike wouldn't give them £60?

Assuming shirts are £45 each then that only equals revenue. Adidas won't be making £45 on each shirt, no idea how much but say, £30per shirt profit. That means they have to sell 2.5m shirts before they START to get a profit. Obviously there is some value to the advertising also which has to be deducted from the £75m..........

Has anyone seen the details of this contract yet? If it is true about them selling their image rights on the new shirts they just might have sold themselves down the river.

So....untied will earn £143m/year from kit sponsorship alone

70m, addidas, 53m chevrolet, 20m aon (training kit)

Sets the benchmark for "fair value" contracts. I think this may be beneficial to us going forwards

Don't be a knob, this is a business relationship between two unconnected parties, whereas nobody believes that our sponsorship deals from the M E are anything but "gifts".
