Put it this way.

Adidas will have to sell 1 million shirts just to get to £45mill each season.

That still leaves another £30mill worth of merchandise to shift before Adidas make any money.

Yet Nike walked away, as they didn't see any value in that kind of deal.
Aparently Adidas will make a £1 billion out of it during those 10 years according to the experts.

So....untied will earn £143m/year from kit sponsorship alone

70m, addidas, 53m chevrolet, 20m aon (training kit)

Sets the benchmark for "fair value" contracts. I think this may be beneficial to us going forwards

Don't be a knob, this is a business relationship between two unconnected parties, whereas nobody believes that our sponsorship deals from the M E are anything but "gifts".

I suspect you're being ironic but the difference is actually clear and crucial.

Does it still hurt?

sergio.ashx

I bet it does.

Why don't city just do a renegotiation with etihad right now and match it up to what united and PSG are getting? Maybe they could sponsor the city postman's shirt.

Even will all Uniteds money they ain't necessarily gonna get the worlds best players. They're not in Europe players like robben and di Maria ain't going there for any amount.

You're the knob. Even those twats at UEFA, who have been trying to trip City up at every step with FFP, accept that the Etihad deal is both fair vale and NOT a related party transaction. The only people who believe otherwise are ill informed and bitter rags. Oh wait...

One season without CL football they can get thru - they are a monster when it comes to generating cash.
If the Tortoise doesn't get them back in the top the 4 next season then little cracks will start to appear.
If he doesn't do it for 2 seasons then they will have reason to worry.
Unfortunately he's a very good manager and I have a bad feeling he will do it next season.

like moths to a flame, these rags just can`t help themselves...
I wonder what name poznanpete uses on rag café..
plasticpete?
armchairpete?
cockneypete?
1992pete?
love it,can we keep this one please mods,he sounds a proper tool....

Very good, you daft lump.

Don't be too worried about United just yet. The Adidas deal does not kick in until next season,

This year their new sponsorship deal will be offset by a lack of Champions League revenue,

Premier League money will be roughly the same as last year.

Season Tickets have been frozen meaning Matchday revenue stands to come DOWN because of a lack of Champions League games which are said to earn £4m per matchday (They had 5 last year, so that's £20m).

They paid a rumored £10m to jettison David Moyes.

They have spent roughly £130m on Fellaini, Mata, Shaw and Herrera, they will need to spend more to get back in contention

They have recouped hardly any money in player sales.

They have only paid £6m of their debt off so far this financial year. Last year they paid nearly £50m off

If they don't qualify for Champions League for another year they will be buggered.
