Is it just me or does the Van Gaal/City fans confrontation sound made up by the despicable rag slime David McDonnell? The love-in for 'The Tactical One' or whatever nickname they'll apply to him is laughable. Pellegrini won a double to very little individual praise, Van Gaal is already being treated like a god without a match played. I challenge anyone to tell me with a straight face that there would have been all this fuss had he taken the Spurs job as he was so close to doing. McDonnell, Jackson, Ogden never fail to sicken me with their sycophancy towards United.

Isn't McDonnell the snake who wrote the story in advance of the Munich anniversary Derby which claimed City fans were singing songs about the Golden jubilee. In fact it turned out to be a false story based on an urban myth which someone said they had heard in a pub. These red top hacks are a disgrace to the journalism trade. They think fans are stupid but the truth is that in this modern era a lot of us have better sources about what is happening in football clubs than they do.

Only a matter of time before GPC and vadge have an almighty falling-out - there will be blotchy skin and hair flying all round the swamp.

I might be going off message here but surely the lack of European games means that, like the scousers last year, they should be able to mount a fairly serious challenge in the league...
