that was some statement wasn't it.

Too true and it soooo makes you believe in Karma - Ken Follet couldn´t have dreamed up such an epilogue
As the heartbeat ebbed and slowly arrested it was City who administered the dagger which severed the coronary artery - clean as a whistle
It was beauty that killed the beast.....

Some cracking posts on the last few pages about my esteemed namesake. Top marks, guys.

There are few things more enjoyable than a finely-crafted demolition of the purple-nosed despot and his shabby club.

Interesting that none of our impartial, sharp-minded pundits or journos picked up on any of this at the time. To be fair, though, they hardly had time to come up for air.

roy wont be getting a backhander, he gets to keep his job. he doesn't pick the side, the fa do. he's told to pick rags regardless of ability to increase the tv audience and shirt sales.
if ever anyone was in any doubt over it the latest rag addition proves it beyond doubt.
Squirtyflower had it right. Hodgson is one of the most bent managers there is allegedly. When he was Fulham manager, there was a match between them and Wigan in October 2008 that is widely believed to have been rigged. He's also a big mate of agent John Colquhoun and all English players of note represented by Colquhoun (including Phil Jones) were in his first England squad at senior or U21 level. Of course, being in the England squad helps increase their value, which benefits the agent.
You must avoid making posts like that PB
There are some on here that will accuse you of being paranoid

Colquhoun, allegedly, is the link between bent agents, players managers and the betting markets.
Just before the WC it was noted only 2 of the squad weren't wih the same agent. Bet they were after. Allegedly a certain famous in his own mind retired Scottish ref had some history with him.

A lot of harsh words on here for the young lad Tyler, I like him. If I am honest a few weeks ago I would have had no idea who he was. However, on Sunday morning I wandered into the bedroom where her indoors had sky news on and they were playing an interview with him, doubtlessly for the 15th time. He sat there straight faced and said that although there had been teething problems in the wake of the QPR game they had become consistent and settled. This was the team that had panic bought 150 mio worth of questionable talent and thrown half of it on the week before to achieve their only win. I don't know but that neither seems settled or consistent. He also said they would kick on, fast forward a few hours and he is having a new arse torn by a recently non league player and a South American journeyman whose name I frankly still am unsure how to pronounce. It really was comedy genius.

Keep up the great work lad.

Obviously Sky didn't notice the irony.

Fucking love it!

I wonder in their moments of angst that you mention,I just wonder if they think about what is happening at our club with Sheikh Mansour.
They would never admit it but I can honestly say the rags I know do because all they can fucking go on about is FFP this and oil money that.
It really really must hurt them - They have in essence become what they never wanted to become. A desperate club outspending even the likes of us and Chelsea just to cling onto us. Oh the fucking irony of it all isn't lost on me.
Personally,I hope they implode into mid table obscurity for a few yrs, just like dipperpool did. Rags haven't even played anyone half decent yet (No disrespect to Leicester or Swansea by that comment) so lets hope we tear them a fucking new one for starters on the 2nd Of November.
All I hear is that it will take time to rebuild etc.Fuck me,Imagine if we could have spunked another 150 Million this year.

Also, if they don't make CL do they still have to buy Falcao?

I would imagine that Di Maria will have a CL clause, but maybe its if they miss out for two years running or something. Would they get their money back though?

Surely they don't have to buy Falcao if they don't make CL. Although, they've made such a hash of things so far that it wouldn't surprise me. He might have a get out clause for if they don't get CL.
