I'll stick to my view, thanks, and respectfully disagree with @stony and you. The financial clout, vast investment and subsequent influence means that the position is unassailable for the foreseeable future.

We still need good management at board level. I honestly don't think that the rags would be in the position they're in if Gill had stayed on.

The figure is clearly bollocks. It's the fact that most of the deluded twats believe it. If a billion watch the WC final, United fans think over two thirds support United. It's truly very funny.

Even the 1/10 recognising the badge is unimpressive tbh.

Just had a read of ragcafe transfer forum

Mane isn't good enough for a team competing for the title - I didn't realise they were!

Schnderlein(sp) is the best cdm in the league and depay is the best young winger in europe

I think that GDM, you and I had the same dream - this is just them part way through the journey to the very satisfying end you describe.
Amen.

It's one of the drawbacks of having such an open forum rather than a strictly controlled RAWK like forum where posters are required to demonstrate their compliance before being permitted full privileges. Lots of posters on here wouldn't last 2 minutes on RAWK but I'd definitely rather see posters being allowed to vent their stupidity (most have done it at one time or another) than have half the topics on 'lock down'.

Absolutely agree - to go down the North Korea route is to end up like a propaganda poster representing one view only - that then would make BM a weird sanitized place where few of us would be happy to visit.

If the rags really do feed this transfer shit to the media, they are simply shooting themselves in the foot. Personally I doubt they are that stupid. Even those with the required faculty impairment to work for the club can work out that it just exposes them to ridicule.

I think this is an example of the press doing them a serious disservice, which is absolutely fine by me.

I did notice that Jake Humphrey had a dig about the amount of money the rags have spent since GPC retired.

About bloody time someone did!

The word 'foreseeable' sort of undermines your argument a bit, doesn't it? :-)

Have to agree with this. Just watched an old interview with Swales from December 1989, on Saint & Greavsie. He'd just sacked Mel Machin. That afternoon we were about to lose 1-4 to Liverpool. Which got me thinking. For people who've been going since before then, imagine that evening being told either of the following. After this season (1989-90) between now and 2015, City will win 2 more titles than Liverpool (and be outside the top division for 5 seasons, becoming only the second team to ever win a European trophy and play in their country's third tier) or that Liverpool will not win any league titles over that same 25 year period. We'd have all said that was impossible. It would certainly have been unforeseeable.

Ha, that 700 million figure is absolute bollocks from the ministry of red propaganda. 1 in 10 of the world's population follow utd?? I reckon not much more than 1 in 10 of the world's population follow football full stop. Amazing as well that they had 30,000 empty seats on Tuesday with all these millions of fans.

They are not fans, they are followers. Big difference.

And, whilst you know and I know that the figure is largely bollocks, what we think is pretty irrelevant compared to those signing the sponsorship and advertising revenue cheques - and these people tend to inhabit a very different world and one in which whether the seat is empty or not is not at all important - was it sold? - that's the key question.
