Worse than the Moyes performances? I think so. But it's early days.

They certainly look bereft of any real fight or inspiration. It looks set to disintegrate but those feckers a could limp on until they sign someone to rescue them.

It'd be nice if they went on a run of draws for a while so it's not quite panic until that run gets longer. And longer. Then losses set in with wins against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal just to steal points and give false hope.

You gotta love false hope.

I would like to think not but It's difficult to write them off, they could spend big before the window closes. If they don't concede chances or goals and keep clean sheets by nicking results against all the teams at bottom of league they will amass a lot of points over the course of the season by playing defensively and stealing points. We might not have a runaway leader this season and the top teams could all take points of each other, add to that the overall strength of the Premier league which will be much stronger this season and their are too many variables to rule them out at this point. I hope i'm wrong and they are nowhere near but it would be stupid to dismiss them at this point IMHO.

Remember it's not always the best team that win the league and that it only took 75 points for the scum to win the league in the 96/97 season.

Do I think they will be a good team to watch - NO, but can I say they definitely wont be title contender - NO, it took them 7 games to amass 6 points last season!

Totally agree. As long as the press keep blowing smoke up their arses, they will continue to believe their own publicity. It's ironic (and lovely) that the media who have adored this club for so long, could contribute to it crashing and burning.

Something else is puzzling me though. What actually is Gigg's role?

Spending big before the end of the window will only help if they buy the right people. As it stands, they have spunked millions already (last couple of windows) and have hardly cranked up the quality.

It gets better in that the players that would enhance their chances are snubbing them, so they have to decide to either stick with what they have or lower their sights. They are in for a difficult season this year as many clubs are recognising this vulnerability that the Rags now have.

And yes, they are SCUM
 
did not watch or see any of the game, but as mentioned above united for me are nothing to write home about. I did check the result last night on bbc sport, and it was funny reading some snippets reported via the bbc that shrek was being slagged off by the fans via twitter LOL.

they have spunked loads of cash and they still have no midfield/defensive cohesion. they will get punished against us, Chelsea and possibly arsenal this year and will lose a lot more against other teams....unless they get a lucky result which can happen to anyone.

LVG is doing a great job in helping their demise. Robbie Savage did a paper article not too long ago and got it spot on - don't win the title this year and LVG and united are a total failure

There's no point writing them off until they are mathematically out of it. They have won the league playing shit week in and week out.

They have the best right back in the league apparently or so said a couple of reds who I watched it with - I pointed out that he(if the ref did his job properly) would have given a penalty away and also committed 2 other bookable offences, yet they ignored that and carries on

2 wins which will turn into 3 when they play Newcastle next week can only be a good thing - they are shite! But they will hopefully convince themselves they are good and won't buy anymore players. Having said that, thier clown of a manger could make Messi look shite
