Don't think he is being brought as a direct result of yesterday as it seems Hernandez was being shipped out before then.

I think the interesting part of this is how far down there list of targets this guy is...I don't know enough about him to know good or bad but it seems Monaco are happy to take that level of money for him and they have a clear run with no competition.

He is young, up coming with potential by the reports but they have that with Adnan and Deepay, so what extra does this guy offer.

I'm unsure where he will play, he will not replace Rooney except maybe if Rooney moves to number 10 but then I think both Herrera and Mata would be better in that position.

Overall, I don't think this is anything for City to worry about!!

I think the half-a-bill figure wouldn't be far wrong - and that will be too big-a-pill for Glazier Jrs to swallow or even to be able to swallow because of their self-inflicted FFP noose - united are fucked... isn't it fantastic?

It's a real situation they are building there. If it wasn't for their wealth, this would be a Swales-Franny, Alan Ball-Frank Clark type mess. It has been that badly run, it's actually pure City 'cups for cockups' level mismanagement.

This is like when City gave Frank Clark money to spend in the mistaken belief he knew what he was doing with it. This bloke is like a Dutch Frank Ckark. Paceless boring football, ged Brannan style plodding centre mids. But if they sacked him, a new manager would ideally want to ditch most of his signings, along with Moyes' signings & Fergusons mistakes.

It might be better for them just to ride it out now & see if his ridiculous plan works. Then start again in a few years if it doesn't.

If they brought in a Pep, or Klopp, you would imagine they would need a lot of players out & in. Joking aside it's quite fascinating to see a club with such resources having a modern day Peter Swales style owner/chief exec running the show.

Perhaps Mourinho will end up there when Chelsea fire him ?
Given where they were a decade ago, and their prominence as a club, the way they are currently floundering around is truly astonishing.

Much as I disliked him and his motives, Gill was a hugely astute, polished, albeit mendacious, leader of that club. I genuinely think Ed Woodward is someone of middle-management quality at most, who's in completely over his head. It's clear he was promoted because he was more than willing to toe the party line and do the Glazers' bidding without question. Promote someone above their abilities and their loyalty is usually guaranteed.

As you say, it's fascinating. When we were taken over even the most optimistic amongst us surely only dreamed that we could raise ourselves up to their level. That they've arrived at where they now sit, largely by their own hand, is as surprising as it is hilarious.

Can't see them disappearing, but they've got huge structural challenges ahead without, in all probability, the resources and the personnel to even begin to address it.

Interesting times.

Too much to do over a couple of seasons for them anyway, they'll have to spread it over 4 or 5 years.

This long Weekend just gets better and better, might not go out on my bike and stay in listening to talkshite/SSN and pissing myself, oh look it's started raining, choice made

They need pace up front, so this guy will bring that. Awaits first media question along the lines of 'how will he enjoy a cold winter's night playing Stoke away.....'.

TBH if there was anything that stood out with this payer Chelsea and City would have had him on the radar before Woodward had even got his bed socks off

Its fucking hilarious. Can't stop laughing. £36 million? Have jeb bud and dud mistyped the money with their six fingers on each hand
