With two exceptions (backwards passes) every touch yesterday following Depay's touch was by the opposition for either;

- a throw-in or corner following a blocked pass

- a goal kick following an off target shot or cross

- straight into keeper's hands

- tackled

- misplaced pass

I cant remember ever seeing any premier league player give the ball away as much

Sounds like he's giving Di Maria a run for his money on the giving the ball away front
Speaking of Di Maria, I watched him on Friday night - I couldn't watch him every week, every shot or cross was blocked

Martial looks better player than Bony.

It is sad when they sign these "potential" World class players.

Am I being a bitter with my blue tinted specs on or is this laughable?

@Troll__Football's Tweet:

Henry was in full control the whole time, from a muc harder area, more players taken on, more players in the vicinity, only thing similar was the actual finish. Gary Neville even spotted it, Martial was fortunate the way the ball ricocheted in front of him. This young lad does have potential but comparing him to Henry is laughable.

I Genuinely bought into the hype, I thought Depay was gonna be much better than this, embarrassingly poor.

I told you so! If you look back at my post of yesterday at 11.16am I predicted that if Martial scores, the media will be trumpeting "He's already justified his fee!"
So he scores - and the rest is just as I foretold. Apparently someone (Tyler?)said that he's worth every penny.
You could almost write the script beforehand. I did. Some replies cast doubt on my suggestion. But I was proved right. Age brings wisdom.

That's uncanny. If you look back at my post, I predicted Sunday would follow Saturday.

United have the best midfield in the league and means teams just don't attack them enough. Still can't understand why Schweinsteiger was being written off. The only question should have been how many games he plays. They have dominated midfield in every game they have played and had more chances in every game. Their lack of fire power will cost them and it's why I don't think they will mount a serious challenge, but they should come 2nd.

Martial is quick and scored a decent goal but unless people were watching a lot of Monaco can't judge any more than that.

Depay has been really poor, Darmian looks great and Smalling has improved a lot.

Get away with you!

Get away with you!
Do you actually think that Smalling and Blind are a good partnership defensively? Even Shaw is very suspect positioning and would be exposed. It's the Barcelona tactic of possesion being the best form of defence. You can't concede if you have the ball. You don't have to make progress or attack just keep the ball, because then you can't concede. I hate that football philosophy and style with a passion. It's hy I am not a big fan of Guardiola and ultimately what Van Gaal's Bayern turned into.

It only works when top teams have a Messi or Robben than can win games on their own. Spain did it in 2010 with Villa. It can go wrong and then you get matches like Spain vs Switzerland.

United don't have that world class talent to score the goals and it will lead to 0-0's and 1-0 defeats.

As for them having the best midfield I stand by it and I don't think there is a midfield in the country that will win the battle against them.

However, they lack the immense firepower of City or the creativity of Arsenal. Their defence is not as good as City's either. We will see what happens when they play more top teams, but I expect they will still dominate midfield, but lose out to moments of brilliance from world class attackers.

The best midfield in the league, it doesn't matter how many times you repeat it, it still isn't true
They might have a lot of the ball but that is because they take no risks and pass for the sake of passing

I'd take Swansea's midfield over theirs - Utd's midfield has no goals in it, no pace and no creativity

I really can't see where you are coming from
