The problem with Lukaku is he's not good enough to play for a team who aspire to be at the top of world football, and he never will be.

His goalscoring record for Everton was incredible, a 0.5 goals per game at a club that bad is brilliant, but the best strikers do more than just finish chances, and he showed time after time his hold up play was poor, he's not got a creative bone in his body, and his touch isn't good enough to play with creative players in and around the box.

Making him a scapegoat won't help them or him, but the sad truth for them is they spent £100m on player who will never fit into a top side, and now they have to soldier on building the team around someone who'll do nothing but finish big, clear cut chances you create for him.

The redcafe postmortem has circled back to Morata vs. Lukaku again and the debate is embarrassing. Morata is several levels above Lukaku at everything.

Yep spot on. He is nowhere near good enough for the very top level.

It genuinely feels like the rags don't have a strategy in mind when they start nosing about in the transfer market. Presumably somebody somewhere watches any possible signings and listens to professional advice before rubber-stamping in excess of £100 million to go out and buy the player in question? If so, why is this person still in the job?
Lukaku is not -by any standards- worth anywhere near the amount of money the vermin threw at him. Anybody could have told them that. £15/20 million would be an excessive amount for a player as limited as him, and yet the rags paid about £80 million (with approximately £20 million in add-ons) for the fucking statue!

They certainly bought some flops under the Pisscan (anyone remember William Prunier?), but the last few years has seen them trying to outdo even the GPC for buying expensive flops.

I'm sure most on here could reel off a list of their worst ever signings (in fact, please do. I could do with a nice laugh to counteract the grim weather conditions).

The rags I work with insist that peg can only use these tactics because he inherited some limited players. Apparently, when griezman signs for them, they'll overtake us.
