Actually IIRC, the commentary game on Radio Two - yes, it was that long ago - was the Scouse derby and they kept going to Stuart Hall for score updates.

They are in the Champions League but that does not realistically increase their attractiveness too much. They still play negative football and have no chance of winning the competition. No top player will go there go for footballing reasons.
