It could be one of the reasons why top players are snubbing the rags, because of that awful style of football he insists upon. Creative players want to be given the chance to express themselves, be given the freedom to create something, but Peg will have them just outside their own penalty area hoofing the ball as far away as possible.
It's a prehistoric style of football that is as tedious to watch as it is to play - and the plastic fans are queuing up to pay good money to suffer the insufferable.

Quite fitting really they call that dump the theatre of dreams.

Don't think they meant dreaming while asleep cos pegs football is so boring

Fabinho yes as I wouldn't mind him at our place with him either playing full back or defensive mid. I honestly don't see Monaco selling him with the other players they have being chased by us and Chelsea.

The other lot are terrible, I don't get the blind faith of the rag faithful who think the good times are back just because they won a second tier European competition.

Get it right blue, it is the second tier European competition.

XD

I see the latest from their academy has gone to the mighty Preston North End - I can't remember his name, it's the one that scored on the final day

It's Josh Harrop. I hadn't heard this until your post but every rag of my acquaintance was telling me he's the next best thing after his one and only game for them. It's a familiar pattern. All their academy starlets tend end up on loan or permanently transferred to Preston, Wigan, Sunderland or Hull.

I saw it on Twitter before

A mate of mine was saying he's this and he's that. In particular he described him as a 'Premier League player', off one performance against a shit and unmotivated Palace team. To which I replied, 'just because I made breakfast doesn't mean I'm a chef' - looks like, as usual, their hype and hope has been misplaced once more

The lunchtime KO was the following season - the 3-3 draw - it was brought forward because of the trouble in the North Stand at the 5-1.

Try telling that to Ferguson. In a book published some years ago he said that the 5-1 was an early kick-off, David White scored a great early goal for us, and he was home and in bed by 3pm with his wife checking if he was ok due to the fact that it was the worst day of his footballing life!

Actually that last bit about it being the worst day of his footballing life was true....until October 23rd 2011, and then May 13th 2012!

He obviously got his facts badly confused with the following season's 3-3 draw at Maine Road. That was the noon kick-off as you said. However, we had the earliest kick-off in Premier League history - 11AM - when we played United at home in March 1993 on the same day as the Warrington bomb.
