Win tomorrow to get the lead back to eight and then smash the rags next weekend to expand the gap to 11.

C'MON CITYYY
Or lose both and be just two points ahead of them... Meh.
No pressure, either way. We're simply better than them. Frankly, I'd give them an eight point lead at Christmas and still be confident of reeling the fuckers in.

Still can't make my mind up. If it were one of ours i'd probably be saying it wasn't a red to be honest. I can see why the ref gave it though as it looked pretty awful on first viewing. Watching it back though, I have no idea what Bellerin was trying to do and he doesn't win the ball either. Pogba is in full stride and I don't think he could have reasonably expected Bellerin to go in like that. I can't decide whether or not Pogba has time to pull out of the challenge but either way I'm glad he's out of the derby and given what lukaku got away with last week I hope they feel massively aggrieved about the whole thing.
Pogba didn't seem to try to pull out. Even if he eventually stepped on Bellerin, if he tried to avoid Bellerin's leg, it would have been obvious that there was no intent. He even has his other leg planted on Bellerin's ankle. I think he wanted to leave one on Bellerin. You/I can't tell though because we cannot have a peek into his mind.

Don't think it's comparable to the Ederson/mane thing myself. I would disagree with anyone who would argue Ederson shouldn't have been heading that ball. People might not be used to seeing keepers coming out and doing that but he wins the ball and stops a certain goal in the process. Bellerin's positioning makes no sense to me at all and he doesn't achieve anything by going in like that. Having watched it again I'm not sure Pogba could have avoided the challenge all together but I do think it's possible he's used it as an opportunity to leave a bit extra on Bellerin and hurt him. There's a tiny flick of the foot at the end but I guess only Pogba knows for sure. Keep changing my mind about it but in any case I'm glad he went.
To me there’s absolutely no defence for Pogba in the slightest. The follow up stamp on his other ankle was a red in its own right. There’s no way that was unintentional. The discussion should be whether a 3 game ban is sufficient or whether it should be more.

just watched this again on you tube , I missed his second stamp with his left foot on Bellerins other ankle , makes my mind up for certain this was dangerous play , disgraceful !
I'm glad you saw that. You see, even if you are on a full stride, and you didn't know there was a pile of shit on the ground. The moment you are about to make that step and you realize that you're going to land on dung, your body language will show that you're trying to avoid the pile of dung. At that point it wouldn't matter if you actually landed on it or not, anyone who sees the footage would be able to tell that you tried to avoid the pile of dung. Sorry but this is the best analogy I can get now.

The more I watch it the more I feel that PP meant to leave one on Bellerin.

What's your take, @Dax777?

Yeah, having watched it back a few times Im inclined to agree. It looks as though he might have used it as an opportunity to hurt him more than he needed. The left foot does seem to needlessly flick out and plough into Bellerin's ankle. That's probably the worst thing about the challenge actually even though I'm not sure that's the part he was punished for. Hard to say for sure watching back in slow motion though as it all happened in a split second in real life.

Pogbad left his foot in on Bellerin, no doubt.
Good call by the official.
That doesn't excuse him for missing the drag down in the box , first half, for a penalty /red card - or the two penalty shouts in the 2nd.

Take the blue tints off mate, he made several worldies last night
I didn’t see any worldies... A striker missing from 2 yards out has f all to do with a world class save to me, that’s just a horrible miss. A keeper sticks out their leg/arm in hope in them situations and it just hits them at that range.

Well, the second stamping of Bellerin's leg by Pogba's left foot happened a good few seconds after the first so I'm going to politely disagree with that line (i.e. the bolded).

I am always amazed at the number of " challenges " from Rojo that do not get the correct punishment. He is one seriously dirty fucker who clearly sets out to hurt players, and if did not play for the Rags would surely be top of the banned list.

He will no doubt set out to injure Sterling or whoever plays down our right next week.

If he only just had a good day then fair enough but he seems to bail them out time and again most times I get the opportunity to watch them. The gea is the number one shot stopper in the league and I think in the world right now. Feel free to disagree with me but the guy is unreal. There's reason why RM has been chasing him since forever.

I do think Pogba has wanted to leave a bit on bellarin but not like that. Whether he meant to do it is irrelevant, it's violent conduct, he is out of control and under the rules that is a red card offence.
That is how I likened it to the mane/ederson, didn't mean it but was reckless and a red.

Red card given, standard 3 match ban. The most interesting point in all this will be the FArce attitude to the sarcastic applauding by Poggy.

By asking Pep for a statement about his congratulating Redmond they have opened the door to demanding explanations to all manner of televised incidents & acting retrospectively.

A clear dose of disrepute all day long. Not holding breath though as it will certainly be yet another dollop of petulance.

I thought Atkinson reffed the Chelsea game very well, he was consistent enough with avoiding early yellows for both teams. It definitely won't be Marriner after last night, nor Dean as he's at the Etihad today. Oliver or Atkinson seems the most likely choice, Moss could be an outside bet.
Atkinson is too lenient with yellows and utd will try and kick fuck out of us, i would think mourhino would pick atkinson if he had a choice. Lets not forget it was atkinson who allowed the extra time when owen scored his late winner as well. Anthony taylor would be another no no.

Anyone who thinks these fuckers are going away are deluding themselves.

They are now a strong top 3 side, their football may be shite but they are grinding out results.

The derby is going to be a lot tougher than many are predicting.

I’m even more worried about next Sunday after last night.

And I don’t just mean because Carlton is banned.

Strange decision by BT Sport to give ratface Motm for one admittedly decent goal and a tap in when donut thief did about 30 saves.

Are you really? I can't wait for next Sunday. They will attack us, we will exploit the space and fuckin kill em.
Do you really think they will park the bus at home in frot of 70 thousand knobheads?
There will be space everywhere for us, it won't be like Huddersfield and soton.
They need the points.
