I am enjoying the whole narrative developing around our respective footballing styles. Turgid versus exciting, defensive versus attacking, slow versus fast, pragmatic versus scintillating. The media are really getting into it and it's developing into a great story where even non-partisan supporters can join in and pick their favourite Good versus Evil character. I suspect Mourinho appreciates this and enjoys playing up to his character. You can take your pick from literature of this classic storyline. I always had a soft spot for the Big Bad Wolf in Little Red Riding Hood, and understand how people like to side with the baddie.
Long may it continue.
With United being relevant in the league for the first time in a few years, and arguably the 2 biggest managers in football in one city (yes I know), the stage is set for a classic production. Will bad triumph over good? Or will good prevail?
So I for one, am willing to cut Mourinho some slack for his anti-football and being a bit twatty, in the knowledge that he is simply playing his part in this enfolding drama.
