Got to laugh when I see people talk about 'masterclass' in their game against Arsenal....

No manager sets his team up to have THIRTY-THREE shots on their goal.
No manager can set his team up knowing the Arsenal center halves would give the ball away just outside their own box in the opening minutes.

They got a 2-0 lead because of horrendous errors. That's all to it.

The 33 shots against (and 14 goalie saves), is a pretty damning stat for the non goalie defence.

I think I’ve seen City have 30+ Shots on the bbc match stats about twice in the past 7 years.

It’s not just the 33, it’s the wide difference between that and theirs (8).
If it was fairly equal then fair enough but to be 25 shots different...

The 33 is a shot against every 3 minutes, If we get even close to 2/3 of that figure on Sunday...

Yet you could argue that Cech made the best save of the game to deny Lingard.

Yes and a fish rides a bicycle

Wtf has a Cech save got to do with 33 shots at the other end.
Ddg had a worldie display. Arsenal had the biggest discrepancy between xG and actual goals so far - due to 1 player, covering the asses of a dire defence.

You could probably argue that United play open attractive football under Mourinho but it doesn't make the statement correct.

Because most of De Gea's work was routine stuff. I know Arsenal fans want to console themselves with these stats but it was desperation, kitchen sink stuff: competing for second balls off set pieces, optimistic shots from distance etc. Hardly glorious football.

I do like how De Gea's aura is now so great that opposition fans lose their mind whenever he plays well. It reminds me of Schmeichel.

Worrying that your team conceded that amount of attempts on goal though surely?

So there was no desperate defending going on,OK then.

I’d be worried if our keeper was our most important player.

Definitely. I'm not sure the players are completely comfortable using a back 3 and need more practice with it. Mourinho probably should have brought on Herrera earlier to help shore up midfield but maybe he was confident that the result was never in real danger, moments after the De Gea double save we went up the other end and scored the third.

His confidence was rather misplaced then wasn’t it. Arsenal were tearing you a new one at 2-1 and somehow managed to mess up their chances.

I'd be surprised if you played a back 3.
He'll play a flat back four and flood the midfield while defending just your penalty box; he'll also look to counter whenever possible.
Ironically I think it would be better for you lot to drop lukaku and play martial in order to try and burn our centre backs for pace, lukaku looks hopeless on the counter.

Don't know why Sanchez hit that rebound first time. De Gea was on the floor and if he'd just have controlled the ball he could have dinked it over him

Just read some of the comments about Pogba on redcafe, oh deary me. A lot of "i don't understand" meaning "it is not fair" when translated into none slapped arse talk.

Pogba had to go out of his way to make that contact and you know it. If you really think that was unavoidable then i may need you for an alibi one day you could be useful for that.
The ref called it correctly and Pogba went damn close to all the messy delicate parts of the back of his knee, Bellerin is lucky not to be badly hurt from that. If that was a City player i would be angry at them for such a stupid nasty action, especially given the games coming up.

Edit: pmsl, there is some idiot who states you have never played the game if you think his foot position was anything but natural. There is then a pic in a Duncan Castles tweet no less further down showing the most unnatural position possible. It shows pretty clearly Pogba too a huge last stride into Bellerin's knee. There is fuck all natural about it you deluded fool/liar.

It was obvious that Tom Daley thought the ref was going to brandish a red from his immediate reaction.
