In that exchange Chris i have read when Mourinho looks aghast it was him asking Pogba to help Matic and Pogba replying "how?". He then goes on to explaining his job again to him.

The man needs a world class midfield setup to carry him and allow his bit part stuff. Juve had it perfect for him, slower pace of play, world class defenders and mids around him. The idea you could say anyone who needs such an exacting setup and not even be that competent in others as "world class" is just absolute rubbish.

I doubt utd ever will give him that platform Juve did, especially with Mourinho around. The more i watch the more i feel correct he was totally a commercial purchase with little to no input from the manager. I think of it as a person getting a good promotion at work, you get the nice office in the corner BUT we choose your secretary. You deal with it but it is not ideal. They are not on your wave length and do things slightly differently to your annoyance.

Yes I hadn't noticed that, well spotted.
You can imagine that Pogba has said 'how?' then Mourinho saying ' HOW ? HOW ? Just get in the middle and stay behind Matic.'
Pogba replies 'Ok boss. Which bit is the middle ? Is that this side or the other side ?'

Here is a question for you to put Pogba into perspective...

How many teams fighting relegation would want Pogba on his football only right now? Ignore cost or commercial value stuff, purely on what he brings to the table as a player right now.

In that light i suggest non because a luxury player would simply not be tolerated now. His lack of tactical and/or positional discipline would stick out like a sore thumb in teams drilled to the n'th degree in defensive formations.

I had forgot about that mate. It seems he does have a parity clause in his contract as this has been noted by a fair few now. His agent i think would rather die than not have such clauses inserted being a more solid reasoning to assume it. Pogba likes himself a bit much so the hat would fit very well that he has this clause. I wonder how much this will limit them. They can't buy many more on mega wages and Ronaldo returning would demand he is the highest earner even at his age as he knows they will likely pay it. Could do with @Prestwich_Blue or @aguero93:20, @SWP's back to elaborate on their finances, even speculating. It gets pretty complex pretty quick with utd's finances.

It certainly seems like a limiting factor due to the huge numbers they pay and regularly raise the bar.
Can't be arsed mate but let's just say they've got a shitload of money to play with still after servicing the debt and the Glazers taking their wage. More than us in fact. Their wage to turnover ratio will still be reasonable as well.
It's about three things really.
They don't spend what they have that well and don't seem to have any plan.
They have a lot more work on their squad to do than us, Liverpool or Chelsea.
The Glazers are yet to show that they'll still want to make the extra investment once a top 4 spot looks reasonably safe.

Could they not say some of his wages are a signing on fee? Sure there's ways round the parity thing.

I wish Pogba would stop speaking with his hand over his mouth. I'm sure what you're saying is not that interesting you big headed, self important prick.

Cheers for that sir.

You really could not make it up, it is close to Benny Hill stuff. Pogba has done himself no favours at utd imo and that inability to kick on mentally and understand the game properly is not coming at his age. Not that 24 is old but it is old enough to have learned "the knowledge" to use a london cabbie term. If Mourinho had pulled and said that to Fabregas at Chelsea (not that he would need to) the second he said "help Matic" he would be running off knowing what is expected.

Can you imagine if that was us, the media and oppo fans would be ripping us to absolute shreds "Peps Pog Psychological Perimeter Presents Problems " "Pious Pep Pog Purgatory" "Pogba's Pretermit Pondering Presents Pep Problems" .

Probably boss, Woodward and his pals are there in large part to their intimate knowledge of commercial climates in the UK and europe, along with their contacts. Sorting out finances in such ways i would assume to be their bread and butter.

What bet profit did the rags make last season?
Level stakes profit? They would have made a loss, odds on favourites for most games according to the bookies and had a stupid amount of draws. Don't think City would have made a profit either tbh.

His name is Brendan or Brenton or something similar, he's from Nottingham and is a Forest fan, masquerading as a rag, in order to make £££££'s. He was outed on twitter fairly recently.

How could a normal human being stoop to that level?!
Lol, so he’s not even called Mark Goldthingy then as well. No wonder he loves the #fraud hashtag.

That about sums them up, they have enough cash, even after the Glazers have creamed off the top, but throwing cash at their problems masks the real dilemma, they've no plan. Most Premier League clubs don't seem to have a plan worthy of the name beyond the immediate stay up, cup run. The bigger clubs might build a stadium and have a piece of paper somewhere that has five year plan written on it, but City is the only Premier League club where (beyond bricks and mortar) you can actually witness it, taking place, year on year.

Purely in business terms, from the outside looking in, its easy to see that United have structural problems, its dominant position in the market place is both a strength and a weakness, its a strength because the inept management can damage but not sink the ship, but its a weakness because unsinkable as Utd is, she just drifts aimless about with the odd lurch when tons of cash are shovelled in to the boiler.

None of this can be admitted of course and when you soak this mess in entitlement sauce, a sprinkle of crass of 92, a whiff of pisscan, a dash of istry, a pinch of media sycophancy and Scudamore's dominant brand seasoning served on a bed of salty tears from their trillion strong fan base, the whole dogs dinner is an unedifying mess.

Who’s he ?

Mark Goldbridge, he plays Gollum at The United Stand...

Most of the media hacks are illiterate, and would not be able to iterate in that way.

We've seen it again and again. Within reason, it's not about how much you spend, but how effectively you spend it. Did you know that in the 90s, Liverpool actually outspent the rags (both gross and net) on transfers? And even in the 2000s, they only spent a negligible amount less than them. And they finished above them......once? Twice maybe? And never won the league.

Let's hope the rags are the new Liverpool.

Quality!!

Daley Blind to Roma has collapsed seemingly due to to cash. Getting rid of players on big wages was always going to be an issue for them. 75k a week for a player who has barely even warmed their bench and not caused a fuss? you better believe he is happy just collecting that pay packet and doing sod all.
they do have a lot of deadwood to get rid of.plus the wood they haven't realised is dead, that's a big bonty.
