RAGS are releasing a FOURTH kit, which is leopard skin print, selling for £65.00

How much are they in debt, and how desperate are they to push out a fourth kit??!

Wonder if the player gets more money for the extension clause year? Can’t think of any other reason why they would agree to this.

The wages they are offered is so much more in comparison to what any other club will pay so it’s hard not agree to it.

So I see that the Rags have activated DeGea's contract extension to keep him there another year. If I remember correctly this is the third or fourth time they have done this recently (I am thinking Shaw and Martial). I am not sure why they think this is a better tactic than negotiating a new contract with players they clearly want to keep. Seems a strange way to run a business to me but what do I know.

"Mino Raiola exploring possibilities for Frenchman

Paul Pogba could be on his way out of Manchester United in the near future with both him and his agent Mino Raiola plotting 'an exit strategy', according to Tuttosport.

The report claims that the relationship between Pogba and United boss Jose Mourinho is now beyond repair and that there is an acceptance Pogba will be leaving Old Trafford soon.

Tuttosport have likened the situation between the Frenchman and the club to 'a ceasefire' and believe that Raiola is trying to do a deal that would be 'economically acceptable' for United."


It feels like this fella has been looking for a way out since he got off the plane. It will be crushing to their pride if he and De Gea leave. Sanchez is done for and Lukaku is terrible, both their lights have faded at utd, along with a lot more in recent years to. They will be left with Martial (even he may be leaving) and Rashford, two more players who seem very limited, as their star men.

Since i can remember they have helped themselves stay in the spotlight by having star players; well, those that for one reason or another attract positive attention. This would be the first time i can remember them having no star attraction.

Next summer could be brutal for them. You want everyone sorted and happy so you are ready to go and advance the squad in the summer. You do not want to be putting unhappy player fires out leaving you in limbo for planning ahead

If they don't agree the extra money, and trigger the extension, it gives them more time to keep him on his current salary.

This won`t be negotiated, the club will have enforced it. The only way the player will get increased wages will be if he extends his stay for another longer contract. The club are sending a message to him, if you want out this summer you`ll need to put in a transfer request. But he is in a strong position of being able to run his contract down. He`ll either sign another contract on Sanchez style wages or he`ll be sold. They will not let him go for nothing in 2020.


edit - Sanchez style wages to some players will offset the fact they`ll not be winning trophies.

I know the extension won’t be negotiated as united can choose to exercise their option but when he first signs the contract 4 or 5 yers ago, when they talk about this clause, does he agree to the clause on the basis that if they extend, he gets more money? Otherwise I don’t see why a player would agree and I don’t see other clubs doing this. I can’t work out if it is a good thing or a bad thing. We clearly don’t have these clauses in our players contracts. I’m not sure why.
