Lukaku at 16 for anderlecht had all the tools to be the actual next big thing. He chose the wrong clubs after that. Chelsea at that time loved breaking back to front with a long ball to a powerful striker. Everton were the same and rags are a high paid stoke of old. For me he thrives off ball on the deck between cb & lb. Before putting weight on he had speed, strength & good touch and in confidence was a quality finisher. Shame under a pep, sarri, emery even klopp he would be twice the player and banging 30+ a season regularly.

It's a shame, but in his mid-twenties Lukaku is pretty much a write off. Sergio's got a few years on him but would anyone say in four or five years Lukaku will doing what Sergio is doing now? I certainly wouldn't.

Can see him back at Everton in the next few seasons they will probably move him on for £40-50 million. Very expensive scouting mistake by the rags.

There’s simply no need for any top striker to be that big. Strength is important for a striker, but ultimately it’s how they move off the ball that more defines their greatness.

Watched the bt sport documentary “Too good to go down” this morning. It’s actually really well done and shone some light on a period of time that I wasn’t familiar with.
I bet there’s quite a few united fans in their sixties who view the following season, when they got promoted from Division 2, as one of their favourites.

A bit like how many City fans view ours under Keegan.

Dropping a division for a season can be fun.

Or any footballer, agility, speed, balance and stamina are more important than raw strength.

I am interested how much Pogba is sold for when he goes. His play has been that of much less than a 90m player. However his commercial value, what actually is it and how much does it benefit clubs? i.e. he gets 100% image rights etc. Personally i still value merit above anything else so with that in mind he should be sold for 50m or so as that is what he has shown and that is super generous! We will see though who holds what as more valuable. I suspect only Utd are an image first club so as commercially viable as he apparently is. Juve etc should be saying to Utd fuck off with your valuation based on tweets and adidas adverts you fools when they inevitably ask for 150m or something stupid.

He's a marketer's dream so the rags won't sell him for anything less than a silly amount. If anyone signs him, the valuation won't be based on his footballing ability.

Think they'll pull something out of the bag tomorrow, if they lose then top four is gone.
