Just watched highlights again V70.we both have our memories eroded by time..
It was 0-0 when the plsyers were called off due to fighting in the North Stand..3.05 pm precisely
And quite a few reds remained in the NS all game,you can see them looking suitably quiet when our first two goals go in..

Lake takes Anderson on for goal No.2,has a shot saved by the leighton amd Morley stabs home...the roar of disbelief for this goal still brings a tear to my eye.lake also sets up goal no4 by beating pallister and leighton,and crossing with his left foot.
It was bedlam on the Kippax,no one expected to be 1nil up,never mind 2.......the fighting in the NS helped City players and their nerves...

As a side note,Helen Turner looks remarkably calm amongst the utd? fans around her for all 3 goals..doesnt get up to celebrate..must hv bin tense for all concerned,esp after a load of reds had been escorted out...leaving a load stilll in there for the remainder of the match.

Their lot started smashing fuck out of the wooden Platt Lane seats late in the game too.

Too right, although it’s daft to suggest Bob ended the GPC. He got one over him as other managers had previously but he never finished him off. Had the GPC retired in 2012 he would have but he came back in 2013 and finished on a high having the last laugh. Considering what has happened in Trafford since I’m pretty sure the GPC has continued to laugh. His exit was executed just as his ego would have wished.

Not really. Most would have their egos stroked by seeing others failing to replicate or continue their achievements. Especially when they don't have a stake in it.

No mate, he goes out of habit and to get his ego stroked by everyone wanting a handshake and a photo etc. Take a look at the pictures of him when the rags are losing, he hardly looks bothered.
