De Gea's stats at the World Cup show that he's actually a limited keeper (by world class standards) that thrives in the rags' defensive setup. People on Twitter were blaming Spain's defence and saying the Ronaldo goal was the only one he had a chance of saving. But it's denial like when people were defending Bravo. Yes, none of the shots might technically be his fault, but you expect world class keepers to pull off world class saves occasionally. They point out that two were penalties, but that just draws attention to his horrible record saving penalties. Some were players through on goal, but that just highlights how shit he is at coming off his line quickly and closing the player down. He's definitely partly a victim of the fact that Spain concede the sort of chances that we concede (i.e. fewer but better chances) but that just confirms what every City fan will say: there's no way we'd swap Ederson for De Gea.
