That last stat has to be the amount of times de Gea had to run into his net to retrieve the ball.

It's retreating to his line. Any ball over the top and he's dashing back to his line.

His flaws that many have been pointing out for years are badly exposed for Spain. The 'save' he made actually hit him and his positioning was terrible for it.

He was also awful in the Euros.

He's pretty poor all round. Excels on his line.
Has very little idea on how to approach 1vs1 especially if the forward has time. De Gea never closes the angle but retreats to his line.
He's got poor distribution and doesn't offer himself for any defender under pressure.

He's the reason United play such a deep line. Behind a deep compact defence where he can stay in his comfort zone, he's excellent. His reflexes are his best attribute.
Spain with a much higher line, he looks gash.

Yup, it's been clear for a while he essentially the worlds best 5 a side keeper. No one better at making reaction saves low down while standing on the goal line, any other aspect of goalkeeping and he's barely even average. He'd be a nightmare to play in front of as he doesn't help you out at all

I'd take Ederson over De Gea too but De Gea is a great keeper. His stats at the World Cup just show that he had a poor World Cup. Messi had a poor World Cup. Is he a poor player too?

Not really, Messi was let down by an awful team & manager.

De Gea did and has hindered the way Spain play since he was called up as no.1.
Him in sticks for them changes the whole way they play.

It was like in the transfer forum when Ben Foster was being linked. Absolutely zero thought to how Foster would change the way we play even if it were in cups or due to injury.

Madrid & Barcrlona both us a keeper good on the all who used an advanced starting position.

If I were technologically stronger I'd put up the video of Palace 2 United 3. Van Arnholt's goal couldn't highlight his biggest flaw more.

The 2-2 draw with Leicester they had this season, Vardy's goal where he left Smalling in a footrace with Mahrez and Vardy in a footrace from well inside the Leicester half for a ball that bounced in the D outside his area.

Yeah think it was in that game as well. He was right too, must be double figures for examples of Ederson defending exactly those situations last season.
