Been thinking about as well as enormously enjoying their situation. It really looks a complete mess from top to bottom. I wouldn't be surprised if the feelers are out as we speak(or take the piss) for a replacement. So when do people think he'll get flirted? I personally hope this carries on for a month or two so they have no choice but to get rid. This would leave them in complete disarray.

I think if they lose in the CL this week then they will have to start looking for a new manager (if they are not already). Once it starts then its a question of time. International break coming up, that's a good time to make some calls. Ideally I'd like PEG to struggle on for as long as it takes to drag them into the depth of the gutter but I just can't see it.

I can't see him there at Christmas.

For me, united have the attacking players to make top 4. However their defence needs to be rebuilt from scratch and would cost as much as most of the rest of the squad if Virgil is anything to go by! Maybe, then DDG wouldn't be MOTM every week as he'd have fewer shots to stop! But whilst they only want to buy players that have an immediate commercial effect on shirt sales, buying world class defenders seems to be a low priority. Long may their demise continue!

Moyes was limited and overated, has been capitalising on his PR throughout his career. LVG was great once (and will be remembered, no doubt about that), but there's no excuse for his failure, a stubborn old man. However neither of them would have ever, I mean ever, used that language or ... arguments. Incompetence is one thing, you see, lack of decency a completely different issue...

Let them live with him now, live with the guy. Watch him destroying a 3 decades legacy, transforming a club into a joke. They certainly deserve one another...

I'd be slightly concerned with Zidane being appointed not because he's a great manager but because he is a tremendous pull for a whole generation of (especially French, but not exclusively) footballers. He obviously didn't buy a ton at Madrid because of the squad he inherited but given the comical wages and transfer fees United throw around they could bring in some serious talent very quickly. Even if Zidane doesn't work out as a manager with a little bit of luck they could easily rehabilitate themselves over the next summer or two.

First they have to offload players and those "comical" wages and pay off those contracts. The Glazers and Woodward are going to quite rightly say to ZZ or anyone else "if you're such a great manager you can turn this around on a reasonable budget" -- no manager is going to get carte blanche. Every current transfer failure makes them more skittish about future transfer failures.

Then, whatever the budget, a manager has to find players that want to come to a "project" -- a project that very well may have no CL football next season. The task is enormous. Then they have to actually perform in a league with City, Liverpool and Chelsea in it, among others, as well.

I just don't think people understand how truly fucked in the cornhole they are. They are caught in a negative feedback loop, otherwise known as a death spiral.

If the Glazers stay, 2-3 years from now they are going to finish in the bottom half. Mark my words.

The worst thing that can happen if you're rooting against them is that the Glazers sell their interest.

I hope they do get someone like him tbh.

Rafa is great and he may win them a cup or two, but he isn't a premier league winning manager. It also will cement the obvious that Utd are (still) desperate for instant glory and will not consider any sacrifice for that glory regardless.

Utd should let it all go. Sell the ground (which needs re-building anyway), get in management who will rebuild the club and the infrastructure from the ground up and get in a manager who's 1st job is a rebuilding of the team from scratch whilst not getting to relegated in the process.

Utd need a scortched earth approach but instead will follow liverpools example of how clutching after past glories will lead you to a footballing wasteland.

That is my hope anyway.

Rashford looks to be a decent player, but certainly not a top 6 level player. He's not even close to being as good as Martial, but him being English means he's hyped as being great.

Lingard is Jimmy Bullard at best. Literally nothing to his game other than running around a lot.

No other top 4 team would take either of these players. You've literally fell in to believing the Martin Tyler hype shite.

And if you think that's blue tinted glasses, I'd take Martial in a heartbeat if we had room, so make of that what you will.

My bet is they will spend big under a new manager. I think they held some back from the gouger as “insurance”.

If you look back on his time, he was bringing young players in and putting them into a system. Given time I've no doubt he'd have won or competed for a title with that squad.

But they panicked and were seduced by Jose as a cure, and when Van Gaal left Jose inherited a team of players nowhere near suitable for him.

It was a perfect storm and it's great to see the train wreck they are now, but I honestly believe they were mad to sack Van Gaal.
