Unless I had the same nightmare as you, I can assure you that you're bang on with that and it was their official website promoting it. I think it was 28 years, not 23, and I clearly remember those 2 whoppers Kirk and Tyrone out of Corrie with their mugs plastered on their website holding up cards with the number of years since we last won a trophy on them.

This club sponsored shit about our trophy drought went on for years over there as @Gary James pointed out on one of his Twitter posts the other week. I've no issue with the banner itself as that's just banter plus I always found it amusing how they put so much time and effort into taking the piss out of us, while at the same time claiming they didn't care about 'ikkle Citeh. No, it was their laughable double standards which came racing to the surface with all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that accompanied the unveiling of the Tevez poster - from both club and fans alike - that I'm calling the fuckers out on. Their club aided and abetted a campaign that lasted for fucking years, yet as soon as our club does one single thing in return the sad bastards can't take it and start lobbing that stupid fucking "small-time" phrase around.

All City's poster said was Welcome To Manchester too. I remember years ago when the banner was in place MUFC used to insist interviews for TV shows were performed in one of the boxes and angled so that the banner was visible. The first time I noticed it was an interview with Bobby Charlton. Could you imagine if we did something similar and had Mike Summerbee positioned directly in a manner that laughed at MUFC?

On the 28 years Kirk/Tyrone stuff... if anyone has any official MUFC poster image or anything like that that ridicules City then please let me know. I'd be keen to include it in a future article or book. Use my twitter @garyjameswriter or Facebook.com/garyjames4 to get in touch. Cheers.

Love your work mate.
Hope you include all the bile and crap the GPC spouted over the years.
He was the main driver of the Anti City shite. Well beyond the point of footballing rivalry.
Odiuos bully who perverted refs for years.
As everyone now admits nothing happened at that shithole without his ok.

I have answered my own question asked in the post above........... I can't paste the full article from the Evening News but this is a snippet

Mayor announces urgent review of city centre transport to ease Manchester United match-day chaos
“I’m signalling today that we’re going to conduct a number of specific reviews,” he said of the congestion currently crippling the city.
“The first, a review of arrangements for handling night matches at Old Trafford, mid-week matches... working with partners from the highways authorities in the councils, Greater Manchester Police, the club and train operators, transport operators.

Words fail me, apart from those that say 'what happened to working for all the city as elected, working for both clubs who suffer huge problems and planning ahead you useless scouse wanker'

Fuck the fucking lot of them. Every single fucking one, no bastard exceptions. They ruled the roost for fucking years, and were were cünts to a man, beyond belief - arrogant, self centred, entitled cünts. Their celebrity fans all had one thing in common, smug twats. That's the only things in their DNA - smugness and arrogance. Neville, Scholes, Giggs, Ferguson, Charlton - smug cünts, and I will gladly enjoy a bowl of jelly and ice cream when the long overdue day comes. I'll rip the piss out of every single fucking one of them, and they'd fucking deserve it as well. 34 years..???? Yeah, read it and weep you fucking cünts. We're on top now, playing football you never matched, even at your best, so fuck off, every fucking single one of you.

Anyone who thinks different is entitled to their opinion, but please don't fucking lecture me on mine.
I like you very much

What year did it first go up or what countdown year was first embroided?

Some people may walk to OT from City centre but I doubt it's anywhere near the numbers that walk to City so it might not be comparable.

Rubbish he's a good Labour Man.
Voted in by the residents of Manchester.

But my point is, apart from being a sycophantic rag, why single them out ? Manchesters commuters are in living hell where every day they face traffic jams and overcrowded trams and he has not said one word. The Raggy team can't get to the ground in time and he makes it a priority ?
