This narrative from the club that he has "steadied the ship" is laughable. He has turned the defence into a complete shambles, the midfield is lazy and/or awful and the average age of their best attacking players is 92. Who can forget the interview berating tactics in favour of passion, desire and getting on the end of crosses?

Who will be the first journalist to tell the truth?

None of them, because that would end the gravy train of scoops and the ability to “break” news about “the biggest club in the world”. A footy journo with no “inside” access to Utd in your country is a blogger.

Not a journalist, but Craig Burley seems to be the first ....

Ferguson has really ruined that club.

Whenever I hear a pundit say "This is Manchester United we're talking about" I have to laugh. As if their place at the top of the footballing table should always be set for them.

What they forget is that United were also rans for decades before Ferguson came along, and it took him 6 and a half years to win the league. They gave Moyes 9 months.

When they talk about the United way, what they really mean is the Ferguson way as they aren't talking about the Docherty, Sexton and Atkinson years.

It's a myth built up by the arse licking media to sell more subscriptions and tabloid's, like the theatre of dreams nonsense. They got lucky that the formation of the big shiny new sky premier league era coincided with the beginning of Ferguson's success.

I almost felt sorry for little Noddy breaking down in tears at his farewell interview, until I remembered all his rag snide comments about us, the last before we totally outclassed them in the derby. They wanted to sack him then but no way could they bear the thought of little City making it happen. Fuck off back to Toyland Noddy and stay there you useless nonentity.

Just a pity this mob weren't in charge when ferguson was manager, they would have binned him after 2 years.

You reap what you sow, and ferguson never had the balls to call the yanks out, he looked after number one, so he inadvertently did us a favour there :)
He still dines at the table every game so is never going to call the Glazers out

It's begging for Steve Bruce.

Is Bryan Robson sober enough these days, or indeed still alive? He has all the pedigree they like. Ex player, history, failed managerial career.
Captain Coffeemate is on the red sofa today to talk about a new film about his life, wonder how much coverage of the dodgy stuff in the middle East will be in it.
