Why have they paid 70 million for Casemiro to sit on the bunch?

The compromise being that the club sign someone, seemingly anyone on eye watering terms regardless of age and whether they compliment or improve the squad so that the spice heads can get giddy for a few days around the close of the transfer window.

I'd wager he wasn't a Ten Hag signing, just another desperate board signing to appease the disgruntled Rags over a shite window.

I'd be amazed if they tried for FDJ all summer and identified Casemiro as the 2nd best choice.
