Correct, he was led up the garden path by agents who fuelled his ego, he then bullied the Board into the signingIt was never his choice. Pep didnt want him

I actually think that City may have shown some interest till it came to the man that counts and he basically told them to Fook off :) ............. his agent probably contacted City ........ someone far down the line said they may be interested only for it to get fooked off .......... sadly PR7 will make out it was a far bigger deal ............ in all his time as a manager has he ever brought in that type of player ?????? So why would he suddenly start doing it now ??I have never given any credence to this rumour: the tranny is the last sort of player Pep would want because he's not a team player. I wish City would come out and put the record straight.
Does anyone remember this nobs reaction to the Ronaldo signing? I don't think any of us could have foreseen it would turn out quite like this! Think Wio needs reminding.
I posted it at the time.
We were approached by HIS people.
Out of respect, we listened to their demands. We would do this with any top player.
It was decided early on he wasn't for us. His wage demands to start with. Second was his age.
At no point was it ever on.
In the mean time, his people let slip a rumour he was signing for us. GPC contacted him and the rest is history.
I'm not sure about Pep saying we tried so hard to sign him. Maybe it was just a friendly thing to say to keep on good terms with him. Nothing to do with City etc.
Still don't get the rags thing about him. "One of our own"
He spent most of career (and success) elsewhere.
He went on strike to force a move away.
Comes back as a returning son. Even though he pimped himself to us.
Demands the clubs highest wage.
Tries to wreck the club again once he wasn't getting his way.
Some legend this...
