Ratcliffe is a well known rag, a Mancunian.

1. Are these lot literally building a second squad of random midfielders? WTF

2. There's an interesting narrative developing among their fans being heavily pushed that "they haven't spent a dime", that they "haven't spent anything". Whether true or not technically about whether Glazers are spending out of pocket, well first is it a bad thing to reinvest profits??? And second, they know full well they demand and feel entitled to the very best players, a bit rich of them to pretend that the 2nd rate galactico model isn't exactly what they are demanding. Also doesn't matter where the money comes from--the club has still spent around ~1bn. Are they saying they should've spent that AND additional money?

He is reportedly worth over £20billion. He also reportedly saved £4billion in tax by moving to Monaco in the last few years. If these figures are correct, and you are 69 years old, would you worry about spending £5/6 billion on a toy? You never know, he may get bored in a couple of years and sell.

If I was worth £20bn I'd absolutely be worried about spending £5/6bn on a failing institution that needs a lot a lot a lot of investment.

I'd also be thinking, £20bn. Fuck it, this is pretty good.

His move from the UK to Monaco alone was estimated to save him £4Bn in personal taxes.

His net worth fluctuates a lot based on Ineos' perceived value, it was $30Bn 18 months ago, and he made a £4.25Bn bid for Chelsea so safe to say he has the cash.

He doesn't have £4bn in cash to spend. If he bids it will be raised cash, investment funds and borrowings.

Same as the new Chelsea owner, his bid came through all sorts of various investors and hardly any of his own cash, if at all.

In any case the latest reports are the Glazers are selling a minority stake to a private equity fund. That fund will be full of investors who want a return on their money - so that's more money going out of the club.

If they had won their first two games there would be no talk of a take over , they were all convinced that Peps cone boy would have them top of the league , all the Glazers are doing is selling shares to prop up the bank balance to buy even more donkeys and give the stadium a lick of paint. Sell 20% and swell the coffers and it’s as simple as that , Radcliffe is just throwing his hat in the ring to garner support. Shares will get sold to Apollo keeping the club 100% American owned , beautiful , absolutely beautiful!

Plus he is a billionaire, they don't tend to give their money away.
How does he get a return for his 5 billion pound investment to buy the club and the one billion to rebuild the swamp.
I think you are right. He tends to buy undervalued businesses . Without that I don't think he would be up fir it
