I find the scapegoating/narrative of Maguire very disturbing.

It's become a national thing, with the mainstream and social media taking it in turns to pick up the baton.

It's bullying, pure and simple.

He's made a few mistakes, but he's conveniently carrying the can for a club and a supporter base looking for anything to excuse away how shit they are.

Sancho and Anthony cost a combined £160m and have been nothing short of lamentable.

The Glazers are accused of all sorts, yet they consistently ensure United are one of the top spenders and sanctioned a record £300m splurge last summer.

Maguire is the main target on the back pages today when anyone with a brain knows De Gea was at fault for two goals.

People even cite his looks. A bunch of fucking shitbags looking for an easy pile-on, when they wouldn't fucking dare to do it to his face.

One day a player is going to be taken to the brink and then all these pricks will all clutch their pearls and ask what we can do to avoid a tragedy in the future?

Maguire is having a bad time of it, but most people will at some stage, when nothing seems to go right.

He's a dad, a husband, a son.

United and their sycophants all need to look closer to home, starting with their entitlement.
They are shit with him and shit without him
They built casimiro into something he is not as well. He played at anfield and last night
Sancho will be next

I agree despite his club form he always looks a better player in an England shirt with Johnny B. I would like to know what he actually thinks about his time and treatment at the swamp. He must have regrets he ever signed for them. I’m sure his side of the story will shine a light on what has been torrid times but we will have to wait for the book.
I hope he gets a move in the summer if only to escape being the resident scapegoat

Just checked the odds for their semi-final. Expected them to be close but Brighton are the favourites-I kid you not! WTF have they become ;)

Correct and I’ve been saying this all along, including when being picked for England. The goal last night wasn’t his fault, that ball shouldn’t have been passed to him and should have been hammered up field by de Gea. Maguire had three players around him and before he knew it they were on top of him. If that would have been our team‘s scenario I would have blamed the goalkeeper the same. The same about many goals this season, he doesn’t become a poor player overnight and his confidence is shot.
I think the your post about the personal side of Maguire is spot on but the media have never learned anything from past transgressions, have they?

The manager as well, he picks the side and decides the tactics. They were two nil up against mid table Spanish opposition and then let Seville score the next five goals in the tie.

They are in a scrap for the Champions league places with a team that finished 11th last season in Newcastle and Spurs who don’t have a manager. They got some extremely favourable draws to get to the league cup final which has been their only success. Give it another couple of seasons and they will be hounding him out and demanding Giggsy gets the nod til the end of the season.
Don't forget the 3 points that they got handed on a silver platter against us.

The rags keep saying sell him - which is all very well but what they fail to appreciate is there has to be a buyer and one prepared to match his salary.
It's the same reason why Phil The Face is still there.
Phil the Face is still there because, unbelievably, they voluntarily gave him a new contract instead of letting his old one run down. That contract is up in June so no doubt they'll offer him another.
