That is a fucking horrific result for the rags. Im nearly 50. When united came good, when i was about 17/18, lads i knew at school who had no interest at all in football suddenly became ‘big reds’. They were suddenly in the pub latching on to the new found fame. Calling me a bitter blue when 2/3 years previous i heard nothing from them.

Its them that suffer now. Those with something missing in life so chose to support a winning team. This isnt what they signed up for. They signed up for success to fill some void or other.
