Utd have been shit for years have their delusional fans only just realised this ?

The media hype around this club is insane. All I hear about is Utd.

In my opinion their issues have only just started. It’s going to get a lot worse for them.

Need a new manager
Need a complete new team
Need a training centre
Need youth investmevt
Need a new stadium
Need new owners
Need constant pest control

As they say the gift that keeps giving.

They will sack Poundland in the new year, they will appoint Southgate and he will create a stable boring side with limited success, they will sack Southgate after 2 seasons mainly because he will insist on playing Harry Maguire and he will break the it's record for most nil nils in a season.

The middlesbrough side he took over were no worse than this united side. They had qualified for the UEFA Cup two seasons in a row, won a League Cup a couple of years earlier, and had just been in the UEFA Cup Final months before Southgate took over. I'd say they were pretty much what Brighton are today during that period.

They were a decent team then with some good players and used to spend plenty on players too.



Southgate got the job and made them progressively worse until he got them relegated and they've never really recovered since....

So yeah, I'm all in for Southgate taking over at United.

They have hired (paperboy aside) GPC's personal choice, top names and successful trophy winners Mourinho/Van Gaal, and currently (alledged, but were plenty on here sayng he would be the best replacement if Pep left 2yrs ago) greatest new thing in the world from Ajax.
Backed said managers with more money than anyone, bar Chelsea recently.

They don't spend all their time mouthing off to the media, making it about them, in fact they're pretty 'back seat'.
This "toxic atmosphere" ...is created by Neville and their 'fans' protesting (no idea why, the above makes it hypocritical) nothing to do with them.

Their beef according to united fans I know is that the Glazer's only spend money when not in the top 4 (not checked to see if this is accurate) and that the dividends/interest payments could have been spent on transfers so thereby being able to outspend everyone by 50-100% - like they used to do, when they won everything with only home grown players!

I watched the whole match because I knew I would be in for a treat. Hannibal stood out. I honestly believe he gave the worst display I have ever seen by a midfield player at any level. No idea of where to run, or to control the ball, or pass it cleanly, and no awareness of the rest of the pitch. To call him a headless chicken would be an insult to headless chickens. Happy days.

Dunno why they don't just do peak Chelsea in the early 2010s and just have a good squad that your manager can pick and choose from and then replace the manager every few years. It's mental to just let him spend whatever he wants on dross from Netherlands.

Although that might have just been an excuse not to manage United and I don't think he would do it.

He doesn't really strike me as a guy who's desperate to be in management and would be extremely selective when he takes a job. he's probably on a hiding to nothing if he goes there. He's too smart for that in my opinion. Imagine Zidane looking at that United squad, comparing it to the Real Madrid squad he had, and then knowing he has to go up against Us, Liverpool, Arsenal etc and their respective mangers with that squad he has.

I don't think he would go anywhere near that United job anytime soon.

That's going to be their challenge, what's their sales pitch to any elite candidate? Unless they address their broader issues they'll only appeal to mercenaries, nutters or tyros.
