That was a long article to state the obvious. What was missing, and is the most important part of all, is the effect this US ownership of 50% of all premier league clubs will have on the game in England, and why people who actually invest in the game from another part of the world are ridiculed and demonised.

I thought there were other interesting snippets in there which the writer should have explored like;

"Ratcliffe, for his trouble, will plough an additional $300m into the club to help clean up the mess the Glazers have left behind on the pitch"

Whilst we knew he was "investing" a further £235m, it still hasn't been explained what form this injection of cash will take. It surely can't be a gift, so if it's "additional" to the share purchase it has all the hallmarks of another loan. And if it is another loan, is it on top of the existing debt or have the Glazers used some of their windfall, to reduce the clubs existing borrowings accordingly ? (and pigs might fly).

Fuckinell this gets funnier everytime.

Shows how easy it is to hoodwink people.

David Conn reckons the £235m is for newly created shares.

I believe it's an additional loan, yes.

As for the Glazers paying off some debt - good one, made me smile. :)

Under what alternative universe rules can anyone believe Martial should get a contract extension. I’d be pushed to justify paying for hair extensions, his stats are terrible.
It seems the alternative life on Mars universe that is Trafford. I wonder if the chat of them failing ffp is genuine as I would imagine his amortisation value is zero.

Yep; he did the dirt on Costel that day. Of course, there's no guarantee that we'd have won with CP in goal. But it was a dirty trick to play CP all the way up to the big day, then shunt him aside for Hart. Compare to last June, when Pep stuck with Ortega at Wembley.
Bit more to that day Jim which we will never know about, apart from Bobby Manc getting sacked that was on the radio whilst on the M1 heading for f**king Luton ffs ;-)
