I can't believe the gall of this scruffy begging bastard, neither him or the rags pay tax in this country but expect the British taxpayer to fund a new stadium! What a bunch of hard nosed cunts! These fuckers have already bummed money from the public purse twice, after WW2 and for the '66 World Cup. We should start calling them "beggers" as well as rags, making the piss boiling even more hilarious!
This is a reprise of James Gibson lobbying the government, no doubt involving brown enevlopes, to pay for the rebuilding of the swamp after the war with taxpayers' money at a time of grinding austerity. He eventually succeeded and even got the cost of removing the rubble paid for by the government. Then there was the government funded cantilever stand (now the GPC Stand) built for the three 1966 World Cup group games played there.

Beijing Red4 Lyf, the best account in the history of Twitter, would love this. Wish he'd re-appear -- at the top of his game he was one of the funniest people I've ever read. Knowing he had to be a blue on the wind-up made it all the better.

For those not familiar, https://twitter.com/Beijingcasuals.
He was a legend that fella

Does anyone remember when the BBC moved North? The final 2 locations were First Street(Manchester City Council) and Salford Quays(Salford City Council/Peel Holdings) As we know the BBC chose Salford Quays. There was a massive fallout between Manchester City Council and Salford City Council over the final decision. If you remember the BBC was based on Oxford Road at the time. Not only did Manchester City Council lose the BBC from Manchester to Salford, it also lost a lot of money/business rates and prestige because of that.

Fast forward to today. United are apparently thinking about building a new stadium. The logical choice would be Trafford. But don’t be surprised if Manchester City Council are working behind the scenes quietly to get soundings off United with an option to build a new stadium somewhere in Manchester. Manchester City Council would love to have both City and United located in Manchester, not only for the prestige of it, but for regeneration, jobs created, and the money it would bring to the council.
That's a good shout. There is no reason they would automatically stay in Trafford other than the adjacent land (is that all in Trafford or perhaps some is over the border in Salford). Personally much as I despise United I would welcome such a big infrastructure development. It would be great for Greater Manchester and boost business in our city-centre. The more investment we can get in the North West the better as far as I am concerned.
