Surely the leveling up fund isnt meant for companies worth billions. I thought it was to help small companies after covid19.

Why do the rags need to cope City ? Their idea is alread being down by City. I dont think the area need two only a couple of miles apart.

City are improving the Etihad North stand, building the UK's biggest indoor music area, British cycling is based around the corner. As are other sports.

The Etihad is better than Wembley already !

City are improving Manchester as rival to any sporting campus in the world.

I dont see why Trafford council would want to compete with Manchester on this. Would the rags be better of touting this idea to other areas like Milton Keynes who might want this new Wembley and not be competing against their bigger neighbour. ?

Here’s the Levelling Up Fund list for Gtr Manchester.

Unfortunately for Scruffy Jim the maximum amount awarded is £20mill.

Here is a click and view map of every Levelling Up Fund project in Gtr Manchester.

All positive reporting on this Wembley of the north and looking handouts to possibly achieve it,could you honestly imagine if this was City we would be getting it from all sections of the media, absolutely no way should they be getting any sort of handouts or support if they want to upgrade or build a new stadium then do it with your own money..

Maybe from the Rag obsessed media, but football fans across the country are taking the piss out if United and Scruffy Jim.

Does anyone remember when the BBC moved North? The final 2 locations were First Street(Manchester City Council) and Salford Quays(Salford City Council/Peel Holdings) As we know the BBC chose Salford Quays. There was a massive fallout between Manchester City Council and Salford City Council over the final decision. If you remember the BBC was based on Oxford Road at the time. Not only did Manchester City Council lose the BBC from Manchester to Salford, it also lost a lot of money/business rates and prestige because of that.

Fast forward to today. United are apparently thinking about building a new stadium. The logical choice would be Trafford. But don’t be surprised if Manchester City Council are working behind the scenes quietly to get soundings off United with an option to build a new stadium somewhere in Manchester. Manchester City Council would love to have both City and United located in Manchester, not only for the prestige of it, but for regeneration, jobs created, and the money it would bring to the council.

Sounds good. Just relocate a whole load of people from Wythenshawe, knock down all the houses. Plenty of room.

A good read, as you say especially given the author’s track record.

The unintentional humour of the bit about Augmented Reality is worth the wait in itself:

"Just imagine how much United could generate from their huge global fanbase if supporters were able to pay to be Marcus Rashford or Bruno Fernandes for 90 minutes?"

Dawdling and whining for 90 minutes? I can get that watching some of my co-workers and get paid while I do it. There really is one born every minute.
The football subroutine for Rashford AI would be piss easy to write

10 Set Run_speed =max
20 Set Shot_speed =smash
30 Goto 10
