Any news on the Donut thief since he left the Rags ?
I know he’s had a firm offer from Norway as they believe he’s got the perfect skills set for their North Atlantic Trawler fleet.

And you had some truly bent decisions go your way courtesy of PiGMOL again !
Evan's had bad injuries at United and was in and out of the team. Never really had a proper long run at it. He went out to West Brom, where he did the hard yards, learned his trade amicably as a solid, ball playing defender. He stats back this up. Pep Guardiola tried to sign him for City in 2017 & 2019 but he stayed at Leicester where he was guaranteed first team football.

Bringing him in as 5th choice center back is a masterstroke, because he is the consummate professional and he wasn't exactly on the scrap heap, he was playing in the PL last season, and he is still Northern Ireland captain. If our youngsters cannot learn from someone who has played 500 professional games then we are in the wrong business. Oh, and he is free.
The only thing I will say in your defence is it looks like cover for a certain defender who’s going to get sold to raise money for a striker, a big gamble with Varanes injury issues , and you should be competing for the top honours - having spent the most on the past ten seasons , sadly for you though , the geography teacher won’t win any significant as long as Pep is on these shores.

I think we saw the capability of Ten Hag's team, post world cup. Where they went on that mad run. Still alive in 4 competition by mid April. But we also saw the lack of depth in the squad. Playing Erikson in the FA cup at home against Reading, where he was assaulted by Andy Carrol, and missed the rest of the season. Erikson should not have been playing in that game. Nor should Casemiro or Rashford. But he didn't trust the bench. So he ran his first 11 into the ground, and after knocking Barcelona out of the Uefa cup and winning the league cup, the team ran out of steam. The team tailed off at the business end of the season. And limped over the line in 3rd.

If this summers transfer window goes as follows.

Mason Mount
Andre Onana
Rasmus Hojlund
Sofyan Amrabat

I think that some of the lack of squad depth is addressed. Mason Mount starts and adds energy with pressing, which leaves Erikson as a back up option for Mount or Bruno. Amrabat can be rotated with Casemiro. Kobbie Mainoo will also be introduced this season. He is similar to Bellingham in that he likes to control the game and drive forward.

Hojlund as main striker with Martial on the bench.

Antony, Sancho and Amad as options on the right

Rashford and Garnacho as options on the left.

Back 4 is decent, with 2 options in each position. Shaw (Malacia) Martinez (Shaw) Varane (Lindelof) Dalot (Wan Bisakka)

A new goalie who is confident and can play out from the back, and play as sweeper.

We will see how it all pans out.
I’d never heard of Rasmus Hojlund before this post.

I’ve just looked him up; there’s no way that he is going to be United’s main striker, surely?

And since this is a Manchester City forum, could we have your outlook on how much we must recover in order to compete with your lot ?
I dunno, after winning the treble, will the hunger be there next season? Or will there be a drop off? Gundogan will be a big miss, because he often gave De Bruyne a night off, which kept him fresh for the business end of the season. It also looks like Mahrez might go and Kyle Walker. Mahrez was a great option from the bench. Always seemed to score important goals in big games, and Walker is the insurance policy at the back, sweeping up any potential threats. He'll also be a big miss. All big characters with bags of experience, lots of quality going out of the squad. Who knows?

You are currently sitting on the top of a hill, looking down at the others climbing up. Some people enjoy the climb, some people enjoy the view from the top.

Europa League here we come

So to summarise for the rags Summer so far

Mason Mount - 2 goals 2 assists last season.

Onana - failed a drug test and was picked up by Inter for free now the rags are paying £47 million for him.

Johnny Fucking Evans - sign a player surplus to requirements a decade ago. This whilst pushing Maguire out of the door who they paid £85 million for.

Gave Rashford a five year contract off one good season paying him what Kevin De Bruyne gets a week.

Failed FFP citing covid as the reason when it didn’t happen to us, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea during that accounting period.

Don’t have a shirt sponsor.

No where near any completion of a take over.

Have I missed anything?
How is Geppetto these days?

Very philosophical and also correct, the anticipation of the Europa years was fantastic as a City fan for me personally.

Don't mind the odd treble here and there too.
