Tent pegs Ajax actually played decent enough football and got to a champions league semi final,if I remember though they did score a few goals but conceded loads as well ..
 
August is one of my favourite months Of the year this last decade or so.
Your typical Rag from Singapore,Cork or Canterbury has long forgotten the previous season.
Buoyed by the endless stream of puff pieces and the signing of the new Bryan Riggs they ignore the need to manage their expectations as this year is their year.
A home win v Fulham beckons and then “ssh don’t say it” !!!!

The victory over a half-pissed City side, in the Cup final, has also helped to raise expectations.
